woohoo, I'm getting a puppy!

well sort of off topic, but my last child just left home and i am finally going to get a walking companion. I have a couple of chihuahua's (kid pets that didn't leave home when they did) but I really want a bigger dog to walk with. I am getting a golden retriever puppy and really need help with finding the perfect disney name. I am not decided on a male or a female yet, but want to start thinking about names. It will have to be disney or star trek!

This is the forum that i love to lurk in and I adore the humor on this board so please - Give me some ideas!

Good luck.....I remember when ours was just a little pup and I would hold her in my lap. Unfortunately, she now weighs 60 lbs and still wants to sit on my lap....lol. I wouldn't trade her for the world though!

I would say wait until you see the pup's personality before you pick out a name. It will be easier to think of something then!

If the dog is fluffy, the Star Trek name I'd choose would be Tribble.

I was going to call my little girl pup "Jasmine", until I came across the name Ascari which I think suits her better. If its disney name then TINK is cute for a girl.

I agree that Tribble is cool for a boy

You have to imagine yourself in the middle fo a field/street shouting the name out first though!

Goldens are spectacular dogs. Unfortunately we lost ours recently, but I would love to get another golden, they have amazing temperaments. Picking a name is hard, but we have always known when we came upon the right one. Good luck to you on finding what you like!

I have always found that names just evolve somehow once you have your new dog/cat/ferret/parrot...whatever

I had a cat named "spats" - he was all black with white front paws & one named "snooper" because he was so nosey

You might find yourself looking for a dog that matches the name instead of visa-versa

Thanks for all the good ideas, I got my baby. He is awesome, adorable and so sweet. I loved all the great disney names, but in the end, my geekdom for star trek won out and his name is now Riker. Im really, if I'm getting a side kick, you just can't do better than that. ( and spock just didn't fit)
