This is a little weird, but my dh wants to know what type of wood is used to make the boardwalk. We are planning to redo our deck this summer and don't know what is the best wood to use. Does anyone here know?

Whew! This board moves fast! Bumping this back up once before it's pages back. Anyone? Or, any ideas on where I could find out?

On the DisneyWorldTrivia.com website, it says the wood used for the Boardwalk is "Ekki" wood from South America:

The buildings wind along a large, wooden promenade (made of Ekki wood from South America) overlooking Crescent Lake.

Hope this helps! :sunny:

Thanks for that info. I'll bet that's really expensive wood!

We are redoing ours in the composite stuff this week... it'll cost more than real wood but hope in the long run it'll be less maintenance.

I always thought it was a South American wood known as Ironwood or also called IPE.

This stuff is available at several places local to us (Michigan) but is real pricey.
