DH and I will be at BWV 9/20 - 9/27. Our son and DIL both have white collar WDW jobs. It's the end of the financial year, so our DIL is swamped and going to work in seeing us as much as she can. Our son had gotten days off to spend with us. DS and DIL are even on the room ressie - for EMHs. But - DS just found out he's being moved to a different job within WDW right before we get there. He'll have the weekend and evenings and maybe a lunch or two with us. AND my DH plays golf three days while we're there.

Wait for it.......

New predicament. MY OWN FREE TIME AT WDW. It's never happened before! I've always had kids or extended family to wrangle, cajole, feed, hustle along every minute of the trip. Now... my OWN free TIME! No guilt here.

Visualize Julie Andrews on the mountain ....."I AM an adult...at Walt Dis-ney Wo-orld!!"

I don't know where to begin! Yes I do. Boardwalk bakery. Or better yet....room service breakfast for ONE! Then pool. Wait...MASSAGE!! Facial!! Spa time! Then shopping. We're going to the Wave one night and even if everyone else there is in tank tops and shorts, I'd like to wear something a little nicer.

Rides. The ones I like. Soarin'. Dinosaur. Peter Pan (don't laugh), Test Track. And my nostalgic favorite - Spaceship Earth. Muppets! And trying Toy Story Mania for the first time - my son wants me to ride this one my first time with him. (Okay, I guess I'll let him.)

And food - only what I like and in no special order. Dole whip, school bread, creme brulee, lamb at Marrakesh, onion soup at Chefs, cheese platter at R&C, strawberry rice creme, Rainbow Margarita. Blue margarita. Pink margarita. I may need a keeper. Oh, TARZAN!!

:rotfl: This could be FUN. Bring on the hurricanes!

(Appropriate) Suggestions gladly accepted.

I've done a few solo trips to WDW and one thing I enjoy is getting a bucket of popcorn and a soda and sit on one of the big rocking chairs outside Exhibition Hall and people watch. Very relaxing and you can soak up all the Main Street atmosphere!

I don't have any suggestions, other than have a great time JANE!!!!:lmao:

What a dream come true!!! If I were you I'd spend a whole day at Epcot really exploring that place! I feel like every time I go, we wisk from one place to another and never really slow the pace to go and explore each and every shop and all of the hidden gems. I've never really "done" innoventions and would love to do the segway tour/ride and do all of the other neat little things in there. Ooohhhh, and to have a nice slow pace in the Living Sea :cloud9: So peaceful!!

No matter what, enjoy!! :flower3:

Didn't mean to hit "quote"...

Anywho, to OP:
I always take one morning and get my character fix. No one else in our family will wait in line for pics and autographs. It's tons of fun as an adult and easy with Photopass. Do tell us about your adventure!!

One of my favorite things to do solo is to stay late after Illuminations (9:00 park close time)(especially in the rain) and walk clockwise around the WS while everyone else is leaving. If you go slow enough, you won't have to go upstream of the crowd in Mexico and you will reach the drawbridge between China and the African Outpost just in time to see them raise it to take the big video screen ball sown the canal to the storage area. Then, if asked, you can use the excuse of "leaving via the International Gateway" to keep walking.

It is so quiet and peaceful there (did I mention "especially in the rain"). I simply think it is one the best places to find peace. ::cloud9:

That is AWESOME. I always loved my own "special" time at WDW. I would steal
away to the parks and do the "sit-down" shows that the rest of the family never
wanted to sit still for. LOVE the Hall of Presidents! It's great to just walk around in a leisurely fashion and accept the looks of envy from all the poor parents w/stroller and toddlers who are running themselves ragged trying to get
it all in. **sigh** Don't you wish your were ME?? Love it! :thumbsup2

Wow! That sounds really cool. Whatever you do write us a trip report to let us know how it went and what you did.

You are going to have so much fun. The choices!
Good luck deciding. Maybe you'll even have time to do them all.
Enjoy your family too!

Enjoy it! I hope to have a similar opportunity in March when DH goes down to CBR ...except one of his assistant managers has a baby due about that time so we may get cancelled. Wish me luck too!:)

Here is a fun thing to do - "Floral Experience" it is offered on Wed. I think at either Boardwalk or SSR community center. you do a floral arrangment, someone from Disney Florist puts it on. It is at the community center. It costs about $50. Check the perks book under tours or recreation.

Have fun! As much as I love traveling with my family, I would love to have a day just to be with "me".

Wow......how great. One of my personal dreams......to spend a few days all alone at WDW.......you're going to have a great time!!!

That's very, very cool! I LOVE my solo trips to WDW while in FL on business... you'll have a great time. Stop and smell the roses! Take your time in the pavillions at WS, get some ice cream and sit out on a bench on the hub and just watch people, go to the restroom when YOU need to - not just because so and so needs to so you might as well make it a group stop! :lmao:

ENJOY IT!!!
