Well, for one night, anyway! I'm going to Swan/Dolphin for one night!

What kind of an upgrade? Did you get CL at the S/D?

My TA called yesterday afternoon and said that Disney called and offered an upgrade for one night to Swan/Dolphin "because I'm a repeat visitor". My opinion is that she arranged it herself for two reasons--one is that I complained bitterly about the price she quoted me for my trip next year (over $12,000!) and that she tried to discourage me from staying at the Polynesian then, which is my choice for two reasons. I've always wanted to stay there and we can accomodate five in the room. The other reason is that she found out that I added a night at AS Mu at the beginning of my trip and booked through Dreams Unlimited. Once again, my TA quoted me a much higher price than DU.

But, for whatever reason, and I'd love to believe the Disney reason since this will be my 26th or 27th on-site stay, I've been upgraded for one night and I'll be spending one night at Swan/Dolphin, my first deluxe stay ever.

She also said that she's trying to get an upgrade for the cruise portion of my trip, too. I suspect she's aware of the fact that she's going to lose my business after this trip.

Great news Beth! You should consider joining Starwood Perferred Guest. It is free and you may get lucky and get offered Club Level or some other nice perk from S/D at checkin. S?D is owned by Westin/Sheraton and SPG is their card. You can also get points for your stay and they add up for all kinds of perks! Just be sure to show your card and ASK for a better view or Club level, etc.. To find the link go to the S/D FAQ at the top of the resort discussions. Hope this helps! Have a great vacation!

Thanks! I'm going to do that right now, because, if I like the Swan/Dolphin enough, I may consider that for next year as my second hotel because I really love the location!

Curious as to how a trip to WDW could cost $12,000?

We'll be a party of five, doing 3-4 nights at the Polynesian, 4 night cruise in Cat. 4, and another 3-4 nights at the Polynesian, and LOS passes for all of us. Her quote included airfare (I think it included buying the whole airline), and trip insurance. She tried to discourage me from booking at the Polynesian, and wanted me to try Swan/Dolphin. I told her that wasn't what I wanted, and would use another TA or do it myself.

It sounded way too high to me, too, since I priced it at around $5,000, depending on the price of the airfare.

I'm glad we're going to try Swan/Dolphin, and I expect to like it, but we won't be using her services to book the next trip!

Holy Moly - IF I was spending over 12,000., I'd consider not using her this year. But, that's because I don't have 12,000 to spend. Our week in Disney in July only cost us 1,995.00 at CBR.

I followed the link and I signed up yesterday! I was really pleased to see that Starwood has some hotels in Las Vegas, too, because I'm thinking about a trip out there for a long weekend next summer (between Disney trips, of course!)
