First do they still offer this? Second my ds who will be 4 on our next trip loves tea parties at home. Do little boys do this or is it just girls there?

still offered and yes. boys may be outnumbered but it's not strange

My daughters did this last year & yes, there were several boys in the group, so don't feel silly. We took the opportunity to have a "date" @ GF's Garden View Lounge for afternoon tea & it was so wonderful to leave the kids and enjoy eachother's company for awhile. When it's over they buzz you with this beeper thing...so DH went and got the girls and we brought them over to the lounge to finish our tea and share the pastries with them. It was so wonderful. I highly recommend doing this! Let us know how it works out!:flower3:

I really am leaning toward this now over the pirate cruise. I am just more comfortable with him being on dry land. He has not but my dd was famous for falling in any body of water she got near as a small child and I have become very cautious.

My 2 boys did this last year when they still allowed 3 year olds to attend.
My youngest was 3 and my older 5, my older boy was doing the pirate cruise and my youngest was feeling left out.
I decided to put them both in this together.
My oldest did NOT want to go, it was all girls plus my 2 boys.
The cast members were GREAT!!!! They sat the boys next to where the mad hatter was going to sit, and because they were the only boys they allowed them to be the line leaders and special stuff like that.
At the end of the party, my oldest was SO glad he had gone!!!!!
They had a great time!!!
My youngest still talks about it, and wants to go again.

My husband and I also booked a lunch and ate at the GF Cafe......it was very nice to have an hour or so alone. And the kids didnt miss us a second!!

GO FOR IT FOR SURE!!!!!

planning our trip for spring break 08
my daughter will be just shy of her 4th birthday - since she will still only be 3 will they let her attend the wonderland tea party. I cannot imagine them "carding" her, she is well past being potty trained and will be with her 8 year old neice. does anything think this will be a problem

childcare laws in florida have different ratios for 4+ year olds than 3 year olds.

if you're upfront and honest about it, they may allow it depending on the specific circumstances.

when my daughters did the tea party last year they were aged 3 & 5. Did they change the age requirement? They certainly don't check the children & i'd venture to say that you will be fine...especially if she's about to be four....mine had just turned three & she isn't mature for her age at all. There are several adults there so i don't think the "Florida child law" thing the other poster mentioned is an issue honestly.

I just reserved it today and they stated she had to be 4 due to the child care laws but I cannot imagine they will card her - so I went ahead and said yes she will be 4 by then. I am sure it will work out fine. she looks size wise like a 4 year old already. I just hope the characters don't freak her out.

If my boys wanted to do it- I wouldn't hesitate- like somone else mentioned they would have the Mad Hatter ad they may get special attention. My boys did the pirate adventure in August and there were several girls in their group, so I don't see why a boy couldn't do the tea party- I think it sounds like fun! Can I go too!?:ssst:

My son did this last Sept. He was 3 year old, which was allowed at the time. (They have since changed it to four to bring it in line with the other children's events.) He LOVED it! It was the highlight of his trip. He still talks about his tea party with Allice and the Mad Hatter. If you click the photo link in my sig and look at our pictures from Sept. 2006, there are several in there from the event. They let you go in, get your child settled, snap a few pictures, and then they toss you out. I spent the time exploring the shops and grounds at the GF. My son had no issues with me leaving him, which I knew he wouldn't when I booked it. He LOVES other kids and the idea of having a special kids only party made his day! I think there were two or three other boys there that day, but that wouldn't matter to him anyway. He wouldn't have minded being the only one.

Just a few weeks ago, we went to Disney again and he did the pirate cruise this time, because he is 4 now. He thought that was the most amazing thing that had ever happened to him - but he still talks very fondly about the tea party.
