Wondering what your thoughts are??

I'm not a senior .. but I am a DVC owner who travels with two seniors as well as young kids.

We're at a point where we don't need/want to spend full days in the parks, but feel we should to so as not to "waste" the admissions.

It would be wonderful to spend half days in the parks ... some early mornings to get in a bunch of rides and some evenings for the shows. In the end, we would spend about the same amount of time in the parks (currently 3 or 4 days in a 7 night trip), just spread out over more days. (Wouldn't that boost WDW's attendance figures?)

APs don't work out for us, and since there are no DVC discounts on regular tickets, so until this dream comes true, we'll keep stretching our 10-day NE PH tickets from UT over three trips. :)

Disney has done the half day ticket to epcot in the past ,I think it was after four . don't know if they still do that or just offer it to special tour groups .

I think the real problem exists when those of us who aren't able to make use of an AP have to budget the rise in ticket costs and every year we see an increase; hence, we see our value "go down".

We bought DVC in 2008 after going for 3 trips the previous 7 years. The amount of my dues wouldn't cover a regular room for us at the WL for eleven nights. And now we stay in a 2BR unit and bring family along. Our value went up.

I know we used to get 8 day tickets with WPF&M on them. Did that for two trips.

Planning for our 2012 trip our budget roughly was ~$300@ for tickets which was derived from our last trip. Well that meant 6 day tickets, which we did with WPF&M added.

For 2014 it meant straight 6 day tickets, and using leftover WPF&M admissions from our 2001 trip.

Looking ahead we will probably cut it down to 5 days in the parks and purchasing WP/DQ tickets as we need to.

Using our ~$300 "budget" for tickets I believe that's a reasonable price. For our family that's $1800 spent on entertainment alone. But again our "value" has gone from 8+ to 6 days. And to see and feel "lost value" leaves a bad taste huh?

I wish DVC would offer discounted length of stay passes to their members. Even 10-20% would be lovely. They certainly wouldn't lose money on it, I spend much more on park days then I do on resort days and I'm sure every else does too. We'd feel our value increase just in purchasing at a discount forget when we head into the parks more often.
