Wonderful Weeks Mystery

Back in March, when I booked my Dec. 5-12 vacation, Disney had this listed as a "Wonderful Week." Now, 83 days out, suddenly the week before and the week after are "Wonderful Weeks," but 6-12 is no longer a "Wonderful Week." What the hay? Does anybody have a clue to why this could happen?

It may be because Pop Warner will be there from the 7th-13th and Mousefest is also during part of this time-the 11th-15th. :confused3 So it will be pretty busy and from what I have been reading around the boards is to expect it to be pretty packed at the parks and resorts.

Yes, thanks. I chose that week because the weeks before and after were notlisted as Wonderful Weeks. So, since my schedule is flexible, I chose the Wonderful Week, just to be sure, as I've had great success with my 3 previous trips. I have seen posts about this week, including one from someone a few weeks ago who said everything was booked solid for that week. Now the week before and the week after are Wonderful, and my week not so wonderful! The whole thing makes me wonder exactly how helpful Disney's Wonderful Weeks calendar actually is.

Disney had been doing an EXCELLENT marketing job with this wonderful weeks promotion.Early December used to be absolutely desolate in the parks. It still is quite manageable, but it is not dead.I used to go the beginning of December every year, and have noticed it getting busier each year.Disney promotes these weeks, as does every major guidebook and travel channel special, so they have become more popular.

That's exactly what I suspected. Advertising weeks that aren't busy is the same as advertising a "Best Kept Secret"! Kinda defeats the purpose, except the true purpose: make money.

oh drat.....

we are there the 4th - 13th, I was looking forward to it being EMPTY!!!!

I wouldn't panic. When I was at Epcot last February, the attrations were empty. I was therefore shocked when I went to The Land pavillion, and saw hundreds of baby strollers parked outside. Well, it was not at all crowded inside. I then realized that even though there were thousands of people there that day, the park is built to handle a large multiple of that number. Therefore, that is why it seemed "empty" even with loads of people. I'm sure that December 4-13 will have only a fraction of the capacity crowd.

We have gone the last two years that week and it was always quieter than normal...I too am now concerned after being around on the boards and seeing how many people are there that week. Also, AP discounts for rooms are booked solid that week along with regular rooms...we are there from the 7th to the 13th. I purchased our MVMCP tickets early to make sure they weren't sold out for the night of the 9th.

I am curious, Who or what is "Pop Warner"?

Thanks.

Ok, never mind my previous post..I just figured out what Pop Warner is...
