Happy Easter! We are joining this thread to greet you all and get to know some of our fellow cruisers. We are a family of five, traveling with DH, DD16, DD12 and DS10, and we are joined by my parents and my brother and his DW, DS7 and DD4. I think that nearly doubles the number of kids on the cruise. Lol.

We've been booked for three months but it took me a few weeks to read through all 111 pages of posts. What a communicative and entertaining bunch!

This is my 6th Disney Cruise, and of course Disney is my favorite, but I've been on about 10 other cruises or so, most recently SE Asia in 2012 and Mediterranean in 2013. We cruised the Panama Canal in 2009 on Celebrity and although we will miss a stop in Costa Rica on Disney, the rest of the ports are the same.

Our family lives in San Diego, the grandparents are in Boise, ID and my brother and his family are coming from Puyallup, WA. I see there are fellow cruisers from Puyallup...small world! Looks like most of you are well prepared for your stay/travel to San Diego, but I've lived here for 20+ years if you have any questions.
Looking forward to reading more and the building excitement as our adventure draws closer!

Guess I'm going to have to watch this since it's gotten so many raves from others. I packed the kids outfits, for our trip in 04, in ziplock baggies and squished the air out to save room, and I happen to have several space bags as well. I love simple little tricks.

Brunch is always booked first with us too!!! We are booking the group brunch first is that right everyone?

I've signed us up for the group brunch as well but I'm a little confused. I know it uses my free booking but do I have to book it myself, or will the leader do it? And I've had dinner in the large group room and it's tiny, so how is the group brunch going to work, or has that not been finalized yet? I can hardly wait to experience Palo's brunch again with my mom who's never been there.

Hi Susan,

I looked up your hotel because I wasn't familiar with the name. It looks new and very "hip". The next time I'm downtown, I'll take a peek around and see what is in the area. In looking on a google map, there is a 7-11 about 4-5 blocks away and there is a market attached to Filippi's which has wine and is a great reasonably priced pizzeria. There is a full grocery store (Ralph's) at 1st and Market near Horton Plaza a short taxi ride away. I'll give you another update after a trip into the city.

No, they don't. But room service is just a phone call away for most anything you want. I'm sure you can get some popcorn for a movie night in your room from either room service or one of the fast serve places on board the ship. If someone knows where Shelljay can get popcorn, please let them know, I am drawing a blank here.

No microwaves and along those lines, make sure you don't bring anything that is a potential fire hazard- they'll "hold" it for you if you do- ex: irons, candles...

Also you're not allowed power strips anymore. So my mom cancelled her Disney cruise with my uncle after she got her FE gifts. So she's giving her gifts to me, and I have the ones we made... So yeah, we're set!
