Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Also you're not allowed power strips anymore. So my mom cancelled her Disney cruise with my uncle after she got her FE gifts. So she's giving her gifts to me, and I have the ones we made... So yeah, we're set!

Why no power strip? Fire hazard? We always bring our own extension cord and USB charging strip. Hope they won't confiscate those!

I don't think that it's the power strips as much as what people may do with a power strip. Remember, the wiring in those cabins can only take so much amperage. If you start plugging in a bunch if appliances like curling irons, hair dryers and the like you could end up damaging the wiring in the cabin not to mention the fire hazard.

I usually take a three plug adapter with me, rather than a power strip. It allows me to plug in three if our iPhones/iPads at a time.

It's on at midnight so you can still watch your primetime shows. I am pretty willing to try anything that is low fat.

I'm old, I get up at 3:45 AM every weekday morning, I go to bed between 8 and 9 PM. I dvr everything. I can't remember the last time I actually watched a show 'live' :lmao:

We will be doing the California Coast repo cruise in 20 day. Is there anybody else from the group on that cruise?

What a chatty group!! I love it!

My comments on some posts I found - some info may already have been posted:

i have a question for those that can book excursions and other stuff next month will there also be a day to day itenery in what day what kind of dinner there will be like when is pirate night when is the golden mickeys
Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't. As far as I know the Golden Mickey show was retired. It wasn't preformed on the last 3 cruises we were on.

 Do the staterooms have microwaves? popcorn::
NOPE - and they get annoyed if you plug in too many "hot" items -blows the breakers (as it were)

No, they don't. But room service is just a phone call away for most anything you want. I'm sure you can get some popcorn for a movie night in your room from either room service or one of the fast serve places on board the ship. If someone knows where Shelljay can get popcorn, please let them know, I am drawing a blank here. :confused3
In Room Dining will NOT microwave anything for you...so popcorn fresh - not happening. You can pay about 4.50 per container for it at the movies or the theater - but it is old and stale. They sell prepackaged stuff in the stores - nasty!

Since when??? We use them every cruise without trouble - on all 4 ships. Last was the Dream in Feb, the Fantasy in Oct, the Magic last spring. I think if you try to plug in two heated hair appliances they will tell you no. Also - no heating elements such as coffee pots, imersion heaters, or candle warmers are allowed either. The restrictions are listed on the contract - read it over if you are thinking of bringing something that heats up. Years ago I sailed with someone who brought a curling iron and flat iron - she had them both plugged in...tap,tap,tap on the door and an officer asking us to not plug them in. One at a time for a brief period was ok - but not both at the same time.

=======================
please -
folks - I keep asking - and this is filling up my in box....

Please put which cruise you are on in message or subject line - otherwise I have to reply and wait for your reply before I can add you to the FB page.

This causes delays in your add, as well as overloading my inbox!! I am the admin for TWO cruises, and don't want to add folks to the wrong one. After Sept this will no longer be an issue - but in the meantime...please, please, please...tell me when you are sailing!!!

Thank you in advance!

Cayla

Actually, they now have a popcorn popper on the Fantasy and Dream at Preludes! We had fresh popcorn on the Fantasy and on the Dream when we went to the movies! This was in December on the Fantasy and January on the Dream! I do NOT know if they have the same on the Wonder or not.

You and your DH, Stephanie, sound allot like Donna and I. We both get up at 4:20am every weekday. We go to bed around 8:30 to 9 as well. We call sleeping in on the week-ends if we sleep until 6am!!! So we record everything too. Don't know what we'd do if someone hadn't invented the dvr!!!:confused3

:lmao: I know! I feel plum lazy at 6 AM!!! My plan when I retire is to take my alarm clock to a shooting range, rent a gun and shoot the bee-jeebers right the heck out of it!!:lmao:

Actually, when we were last on, they have started making their own popcorn in the poppers but only during showtimes - smelled up the whole hallway and it smelled GOOD! Don't know if they are doing it on the Wonder yet, but def on the bigger ships in Preludes - hehehehe

This has actually been a rule for quite some time and has been on DCL's prohibited items list for as long as we've been cruising. Power cords CAN be a fire hazard and they are not allowed for safety reasons.

As you can see, extension cords and surge protectors are on the prohibited items list......................

Hi - sorry it's taken me so long to pop in here and get this posted - there are far too many threads here for me to possibly catch up on!

Here is the info for FE as I know it stands now:
I have sent out an e-mail to everyone on the FE List with the link to the list on Google - as of now, the list has been split into FOUR groups. These groups each have somewhere around 35 people (NOT cabins) in them. If you did NOT get the email with the link, PLEASE send me an e-mail to DisneyMouseHouse@disboards.net and I will respond with the link for you. The link is also posted on the FB page (I will NOT post it here as this is an OPEN forum and therefore accessible to anyone, whether or not they are cruising or even a member of DISBoards!)

I have also updated the first post with a list of everyone's DISBoard name as the list stands now - the list will NOT close until August 1st. At that time I will be opening a "late comers" list and will add any additional people to that list instead. They will exchange among themselves and if anyone else would like to add them to their OWN list, you can do that - I won't keep track of that myself, you will need to do that!

Any questions, please catch me on FB or sending an email to the above address...........thanks!
Beverly

THNLK- just checking in. Sent you a message about a week ago on the private tour in Cartagena. Please check and message me back if you are still interested. Thanks!

Ok guys, the gals on here, and my wife too, are on to something with those Skechers with memory foam. I want on to Amazon and bought me a pair of Skechers with memory foam for men. They just arrived today. I got to say I feel like I am walking on clouds on my feet. Each step is soft, comfortable, bouncy and springy. I just may sleep in them tonight. With all of the walking we are going to do on these excursions, I am glad I spent the money on these shoes.

That's right!! I did see that - it was at the bar outside the movie theater on deck 5.
