Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Here's what I know about Marvel and those twists:
1.) Marvel has been planning that twist/the major plot point since day one. They knew SHIELD wasn't a permanent thing.
2.) Marvel has up to the year 2028 planned with plot points for their Marvel Movie Universe. (so they have a resolution).
3.) Stephen Strange's name drop wasn't by accident.
4.) Chris Evans is signed up for 6 Marvel movies. So far (depending on if you count that bit in "Thor: Dark World") he either has done either 3 or 4. Add "Avengers: Age of Ultron" you have 4 or 5 movies he's done. Then add the next "Captain America" and you're at 5 or 6. So he's on the other half of his contract right now. And he's said he wants to retire from acting and direct (which means I'm going to be watching a lot of him on video because that man is darn good looking).
5.) Sebastian Stan has signed up for 9 movies. He plays Bucky/Winter Solider. The only other person with that type of contract is Samuel L.Jackson. And he's done 2 of this 9.
6.) In the comics when Steve Rogers passes, Bucky/Winter Solider becomes Captain America... I am thinking we will get a "Captain America: 3" and Steve Rogers passes away, Bucky takes the reins. Then in the next Captain America it's Bucky and he'll get flashbacks of Steve (which puts Chris Evans at the 6 movie mark. Although I heard he's going to be in "Avengers 3").
7.) Joss Whedon directed the first credit scene, which has a very horror movie vibe.
8.) Due to contract and Marvel selling Fox "X-Men" almost 20 years ago there's weird stuff regarding Quick silver and Scarlett Witch. So they won't be called mutants in the new "Avengers" movie, or talk about their dad (Magneto). But they will be in the movie. And Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quick silver looks sooooooo much better than Evan Peter's Quick silver (and fun movie factoid: they both played in "Kick @ss" and "Kick @ss Two" as best friends.).
9.) I am a Marvel/superhero geek.
10.) Nick Fury's new journey is part of his Shadow Days/Lands time. So that's been mapped out in comics for awhile.

---
Hope that explains things. At first when I saw "Captain America: Winter Solider" I had a lot of the "What?!" moments. Then I started thinking about what I knew in terms of Marvel and their productions. It makes sense and isn't as scary.

So apparently they censored a character's name when I wrote it. Hm. So if there's a funky grammar thing, know that's why.

I'm not up on this subject as much as you are Kim. I'm afraid I don't know any of those people you mentioned. And, I saw the first Captain America, The first Avengers movie. and every now and then watch Shield on TV. I guess I have been sleeping thru most of these???:confused3

In my house we speak geek. Every Tuesday night when I wake up my dad's like "you need to watch 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' it was so good!"

Ok,ok,ok,ok...........................an off topic question for all of you out there in DIS Land. DW and I just traded in our old flip type cell phones for a new "Smart Phone." My question is....................................is the reason they call it a smart phone is because you have to be "Smart" to use the darn thing????:confused3 Looks pretty darn intimidating to me!!!

Just trying to make a simple phone call on the stupid thing....................I mean "Smart Thing," takes an IQ of over 2000!!!! (By the way................I'm way under 2000 for an IQ.):sad2::sad2::sad2:

You know, David, I've been involved in some way with computers since the early '80's and I've always found them a fun challenge to use. When cell phones first came around, I stayed away from them. Then as they became more mainstream I owned one but could count the number of times I used it per month on one hand. The flip phones were the turn-around for me and I really liked my razor. But the whole texting thing was a mystery to me. Tapping three times for "c" and then pausing and once for "a" then finding the "t" and tapping twice to spell "cat". Was so much work it was not worth it to me. And I'm a computer geek! I saw my first iPhone and felt much the same as you. But once I got my first one, I've been hooked. In fact I rarely let it far from me ever. You'll warm up to yours and once you do it'll be much the same way.

I live off my smart phone. It keeps a lot of my passwords (which is why when it fell in the potty I freaked out), I use it as an alarm clock, camera, watch, I have pinterest on it... yeah. Basically play with it. The phone function app is usually a key pad type picture. What phone did you get?

We have had a simple cell flip type phone for several years now. It took care of just the basics. No fancy bells and whistles. We only used them when on the road traveling back and forth to work, in case of a breakdown and needed to call each other and to call for a tow if needed. But this new fancy phone that does everything but prepare your breakfast for you in the morning and tuck you into bed at night, kinda scares me.

But like you said Steve, I'm sure after a few mishaps and mistakes calling the wrong number............"Honey is that you?" and some big hairy, bearded, burley guy over 10 feet tall answers in a deep gruff voice, "I'm not your honey, and stop calling me!!!" I'll get use to this new contraption. I hope,hope,hope,hope!!!:crazy2:

It's a Motorola smart phone. We wanted to get caught up with everyone else but not jump right into the mainstream biggies, like the Apple iphone. We felt we needed...................well at least I needed...................something to learn on before taking on one of the big guns.

Just wait until you accidentally butt-dial someone.

Welcome! We decided to do this one without kids. It was either that or hold school on deck and my wife wasn't up to that.

We've been on the fence about that since we booked this on our Alaskan cruise. I'm now worrying that there won't be other school aged kids.

No, I'm pretty sure they'll be others. In fact, I think there's a few on this cruise meets thread. But, PC cruises are usually much lighter on the kiddos than usual DCL cruises.

I use to have a Blackberry and there were times when I thought my smart phone wasn't very smart to begin with....lol

:welcome: :welcome: There are kids, but not in large numbers which actually probably works out great for them!! We've got a few on here, check out the FB group too, not everyone comes here.
We too are empty nesters. The adult pool deck is going to be crowded! :rotfl:

I've heard of this happening. I'm sure that if it can happen I will do it. (Just hope if I do butt-dial someone, it is someone I know!!!):lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I"ve never done it but I've been the recipient of it several times! Especially from my oldest son.

Hi Everyone,

I don't have kids, I am a 12 years old inside a 33 year old's body.

I have butt dialed a lot on my old phone. Now with my iPhone... I get a lot of dropped calls.

I just saw a preview for a Disney movie "Million Dollar Arm." OMG, Jon Hamm and a sports movie! Crow! I'm all up on that! It's going to be showing on the boat more than likely.

I know there will be fewer kids. I am just having a really hard time justifying pulling my boys out of school.
