Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Phew, I hadn't checked the meet thread in a while and missed the migration to this new thread.

Am pleased to report that we now all have annual leave approved, and our international flights booked. We're also staying at the World for a few days afterward- first time staying at the Grand Floridian Villas, which I bought into on our last cruise :) Circle of life and all that...

We'll probably skip FE this time. I still have a CD of music someone distributed on the WBPC cruise we did in 2011, though - a great souvenir!

Just got confirmation of Beach Club Villas post cruise through DVC! (David's Vacation Club rentals- really decent pricing on DVC resorts.) Looking forward to being right near EPCOT for the Food and Wine Festival. Now to cancel the original Port Orleans reservation~

Hi Beverly!!! Glad see you are back!!! Missed you.

My opinion on the FE List. I think August 3rd is a good closing date. That gives everyone plenty of time to finish up on their FE gifts. And splitting them up as even as possible, is also a good idea. So, I am in total agreement with you. (My two cents worth.)

This is the first time we ever signed up for an FE exchange and I hope I haven't made a mistake in preparing. I have prepared several gifts to bring on different days to the people on our list. I found out usually each family brings one gift per person or cabin. If someone could give me more info I would appreciate it, thanks. :confused3

Do u have link of the embassy suites

Here is the link for the Embassy Suites near the cruise terminal. Complimentary breakfast each morning and free cocktails each night during the manager's reception!

HI!:wave2: No need to be worried! In FE, it's usually one gift per person/cabin in your group. The groups can get quite large, so it would quickly become quite expensive to do multiple things not to mention the packing room! However, what you do is totally up to you. For instance, some people do a stateroom gift...something for the stateroom. Some people do something for each person. Some people do a combo....a stateroom gift for adults and individual for children. The guidelines are quite loose. It is totally up to you, the only true RULE.....have fun!!!

Thanks, I had several ideas and couldn't decide on one so went with them all, I just didn't want to be annoying and give too much. I have to say I am having fun!!!:yay:

In terms of FE stuff:

I'm horribly practical. I will say that aloud and proud. So my FE gifts tend to be something you can use and enjoy. I am a sucker for those things.

:lovestrucWe are now PAID IN FULL...Cruise and Airline tickets and hotel in San Diego and reservations at WDW on return trip!!!!! Yipppeeee!!!
Got great price ( I think anyway) on airline tickets from JFK to San Diego and Orlando back to JFK for $364 per person!!!pixiedust: :lovestruc

FE Question... Do you give every night to people on list or a one time gift? I have read the 1st page info. I just over-analyze everything. :)

I think you pretty much do whatever, however you want. I gift, I night or multiples. Something for the cabin or something for the individuals in the cabin. Homemade, store bought, practical, silly... Just have FUN with it!

Glad to know your wife won't have to hurt you now. I would hate that she would have to go to that level of trouble! ;)

We have finalized all our reservations! I am so excited!!!!! :goodvibes

We land in SD on the 10th, and will spend 2 nights at the Del Coronado on our DVC points. Then we go to the ship. Not sure how far that is, but I am sure we can get a taxi. After the cruise we will go to Food and Wine for a week, and are staying at the Beach Club Villas. :beach: All flights and accommodations are paid for. Can't wait to get this show on the road!

Thank goodness you made this reservation! Crutches are not so good on a cruise.
