Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

We are Bob & Carol Lazott. We have been reading the blogs for a couple of months now, but haven't corresponded before.

We will be in cabin 7566. Bob is retired, I still work. We will be celebrating our 40th anniversary a few months early.

We like to play card games. On the transatlantic trip three years ago, we played bridge before dinner in one of the lounges.

We'd be interested in meeting and socializing with others.
We are Susan & Paul in 2101. We are retired and will be celebrating our 31st anniversary this month. Western Colorado has been our home for 19 years, but we were born and raised in New Orleans. We don't play cards, but would love to socialize with you & other "Golden Agers"!!!!!!

Hey everybody! Since I'm still waiting to be added to the Facebook group I'm just going to put this out here. My husband used to design board and card games for a living, and over the years (even well after leaving the industry) he has acquired quite the collection of games. We are considering bringing a couple of "packable" games (mostly card games as we don't want to damage any game boards in our travels) with us on the cruise. Is there anybody out there who would be interested in meeting up a couple of times to play a game or two?

Any of the games you designed something we might be familiar with???popcorn::

:welcome::welcome:Susan and my mom Beth in 2570 just down the hall from you :rolleyes1 I wish I could retire and Mom should, as a "Golden Ager", but says she'd just get bored so she still works fulltime. She's born and raised in Tennessee. We've been here since I was 3 so that would be 42 years in the Louisville, Kentucky area. We're both getting super excited finishing up the last minute stuff. I have to find goody bags for our FEs and ribbon to tie them up with and start the packing process :cheer2:.

We fly outta here 5 weeks from tomorrow. Went shopping with my daughter today and came home with a t-shirt with Olaf plastered across the front. Printed out our FE list along with the excel calendar. All of my plastic protected pages are in the extendfile that will be in my purse, along with our cruise docs/tags. The only thing missing is my passport. The drawer of "things to take" is getting pretty full as I set aside clothes that I want to take along with tiara's and pirate hats (mom ordered today...too cute pirate:Capt Hook may kidnap mother when he see's her). Is it here yet? :dance3:. Looking very forward to experiencing all the fun and excitement with all the fine people on here.

I ordered goody bags from Oriental Trading Co. and they were shipped right away.

Cayla,

GREAT job on the excel/date of events spread sheet....:coffee:
There was talk about a "Cabin Crawl/tour" on the different types of cabins....

I don't see that on here.....

Is this still on? :confused3

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

OK, we have our location for the Official Meet N Greet. :thumbsup2

I asked for something suitable for up to 300 people for an hour, either mid-morning or mid-afternoon on Saturday, Sept. 13th. :crowded:

The DCL groups department has given us Studio Sea, Deck 4 amidships (that's the middle bit), from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13th. I think (but am not entirely sure) that it will be posted as being reserved for a private group.

Look forward to seeing everyone there! :cheer2:

Richard

Thanks Richard, this should be fun. We are looking forward to meeting everyone. :yay:

My DS is wandering how many pin traders are going to be on the ship. He is trying to find out how many he needs to bring. (I already have about 100):confused3

There are always lots of pin traders on board. There will be times listed in the navigator for special crew pin trading events.

Thank you.... I know about the crew pin trading. My DS just wanted to make sure we have lots of pins he is willing to trade. He normally finds people to trade with. Hope we have extras. I can't wait :woohoo:

Welcome Bob and Carol. Glad you joined the group. Linda and I are in 7514, almost neighbors. We are beginner bridge players but would love to meet some nights and play. Both of us are retired and in our golden years. Look forward to meeting you

Hi GayLynn,

I've already placed the order, and we're close to the limit of what I ordered. I might put in a second order (although I'm concerned about having way too many extras). However, I suspect that not everyone will show up at the Meet N Greet on Saturday (see above notice), so there may be extras. I'll make a note and do what I can for you.

All the best,
Richard

No worries, Richard. Thank you. I was away for a few weeks so I missed the deadline for final numbers. It's amazing how much catch-up their was to do on reading all the posts. ::yes:: I'll most likely be at the Meet N Greet and we are in cabin 6043 if you have extras to unload.
Thanks again,
GayLynn
