Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

We are taking the 9:30 from Irvine, a few stops after Disneyland. We will get to San Diego by 10:54. I am not sure when we will be allowed to board.[/QUOT

There is a group of us on the 9:08 train out of Anaheim. Is your train earlier or later? I think we get in at 11:20am.

Hey everybody! Since I'm still waiting to be added to the Facebook group I'm just going to put this out here. My husband used to design board and card games for a living, and over the years (even well after leaving the industry) he has acquired quite the collection of games. We are considering bringing a couple of "packable" games (mostly card games as we don't want to damage any game boards in our travels) with us on the cruise. Is there anybody out there who would be interested in meeting up a couple of times to play a game or two?

Also, we're looking into taking the train down to San Diego since we're spending some time at Disneyland before the cruise. We are looking into either the 9:00 or 10:30 train. For those of you who are doing the same, what time did you book and how early would you suggest to leave Disneyland?

We love to play games, and would love to learn some new games. Let us know where and when :):)

Just noticed you live in Puyallup we live in Graham.

We are in Anacortes/Oak Harbor (I am in Anacortes). I am still learning my Washington so I am not 100% sure where Graham is. I know if I drive off my island I'm in trouble.

Here's a tentative list of movies that will be showing during the cruise:

Finding Nemo 3D
Frozen
Frozen Sing-A-Long
Saving Mr. Banks
Muppets Most Wanted
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Bears
Million Dollar Arm
Maleficent
Planes Fire and Rescue
Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy

See You Real Soon!
Richard

I love the Anacortes area just don't get there very often. We are way south of you. About 30 to 40 miles from Mount Rainier.

OK, we have our location for the Official Meet N Greet. :thumbsup2

I asked for something suitable for up to 300 people for an hour, either mid-morning or mid-afternoon on Saturday, Sept. 13th. :crowded:

The DCL groups department has given us Studio Sea, Deck 4 amidships (that's the middle bit), from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13th. I think (but am not entirely sure) that it will be posted as being reserved for a private group.

Look forward to seeing everyone there! :cheer2:

We are Bob & Carol Lazott. We have been reading the blogs for a couple of months now, but haven't corresponded before.

We will be in cabin 7566. Bob is retired, I still work. We will be celebrating our 40th anniversary a few months early.

We like to play card games. On the transatlantic trip three years ago, we played bridge before dinner in one of the lounges.

We'd be interested in meeting and socializing with others.

Way to go Richard!!:banana::banana::banana:

As soon as I left California I felt like a ton of bricks, that I didn't know were there, was lifted off my chest. And when I got to Anacortes it was like "yep this is home. Not moving."

I'm about to go on the road, back early next week, at which point I'll finalize the numbers for wristbands. These are stretchy, silicon wristbands, in glow-in-the-dark white with green lettering that says:

"Disney Wonder EBPC 2014 – Cruisin' thru Panama"

I'm financing this personally, but will ask people for donations to help defray the cost when they pick up their wristbands at the Meet N Greet. Paper money only; no coins! ($1, $5, $10, etc.) I don't want to wind up with a bunch of coins I have to carry around, but can't use on the cruise. If I happen to wind up with a surplus, I'll give it to guest services for a CM group that does not receive tips for their next party. I won't make a profit either way.

I'm planning to have one wristband for:

• Everyone on the facebook group, plus the people in their parties, and
• The people on this thread who have asked to be included, and told me how many people are in their parties.

Hence, if there are four people in your family, but you're the only person from your family in the facebook group, then I have you down for 4 wristbands, based on Padalyn / Cayla's Excel spreadsheet.

If I've missed anyone who has posted on this thread, and is not on the fb group, please let me know. If you are on the facebook Excel spreadsheet, I've got you. Please don't post or msg me about this.

I won't be able to respond until next week, but I'll catch up then.

Please don't ask for more wristbands than the number of people in your party. We're very close to 300 already, and the wristbands come in multiples of 100. I'd really rather not to have to order another 100 because someone wanted to sneak 2 extras! FYI, the per-unit cost, with shipping, works out to about 44¢ apiece.

Here's the list of DISBoards families I have so far. Please post corrections or additions on this thread:

Thanks,

Hi Richard, if not too late, CruisingSD has 3 cabins and we would greatly appreciate 11. If that is too many, we have 5 kids and it would be an extra special treat for them. We do not have a Facebook account, so I don't think we've been counted.

We are quite happy to donate $10 or whatever is needed.
Thanks again,
GayLynn

I know it's about a 3 hour drive south from Oak Harbor. I have family that lives in the South Hill area. What a small world we live in.

Dave and I are just down the passageway from you! We will be just a few months from our 36th anniversary and 5 years from retirement! :goodvibes

There is a group of us taking the 9:08 train, we reserved business class seats. Meet at station at 8:15am w/ luggage, 8:40 if none; We also having dining reservations for Sept. 10 @ 7:50 pm at Storytellers cafe at Grand Californian. I'm not sure, but can try to add your group. PM me ASAP if interested. Games: yes. We're bringing a game also.

Hi GayLynn,

I've already placed the order, and we're close to the limit of what I ordered. I might put in a second order (although I'm concerned about having way too many extras). However, I suspect that not everyone will show up at the Meet N Greet on Saturday (see above notice), so there may be extras. I'll make a note and do what I can for you.

All the best,
Richard
