Hello Fellow Cruise Mates! For our 15 year Anniversary my husband booked our first Disney Cruise! We are so incredibly excited. It will be my husband, my daughter and myself.

Looking forward to chatting with you all before and meeting you on the cruise. Any tips for us first timers would be great. We are also looking to sign up for the Fish Extenders. Is there a sign up for our sailing? Also, is there a FB group setup that I can join?

On second thought, I'll guestimate how many to order. I'll look at how many people are registered for the cruise on the DISBoards + the facebook group, and add some extra. I'll allocate one per registered person. If people want more than that, I'll ask them for $1 apiece.

As for contributions to defray the costs, I'll take whatever people want to give. If there's a surplus, I'll use it to buy candy for CMs

BTW, if there are extras left over, I may hand them out to people who look like they could use a smile. (*pixie dust*!) pixiedust:

This way no one needs to keep track (including me).

Does that seem reasonable? :flower3:

Thanks,
Richard

We are new to the group. Is it too late to sign up for 3 wristbands?

Welcome. For more info on group activities, FE, etc. go to page 1 of the thread. For FB, message Padalyn with your email address and she'll add you.
Tips for first-timers: bring motion sickness pills just in case! Check out the Cruise Critic boards and these as there may be entire threads for first timers. Notify your credit card companies of where you'll be so you don't find your cards blocked; get an international calling pkg and text pkg and data pkg to save money; make sure your phones are off or on airplane mode or you'll end up with a fortune spent on roaming and cellular at sea charges; look at DCL suggested packing lust and don't bring items that will be confiscated; don't forget to pack passports and leave a copy at home where they can be found if needed, we always make an extra copy and keep it separate from the original. Hope these help. I'm sure there are more, but I'm not quite awake yet! Happy sailing.

Looking forward to meeting you and Donna! (and will be happy to decorate a birthday button for her :) I work every day except Wednesdays and Thursdays so I should be around.

Anne, we are driving over on Thursday afternoon after work, won't arrive until around 4 or 5ish pm. Friday is her birthday. We already have fast passes made for the Magic Kingdom on Friday, and I have dinner plans made at Be Our Guest Restaurant at 5:45pm, and a surprise birthday cake coming to the table, so we may not make it over to DTD until Saturday afternoon the 26th. But we will be sure to stop in Saturday afternoon to meet you and to say hi. That is nice of you to offer to decorate a birthday button for Donna, thank you. Where can I get one? Are they there in the Christmas Shoppe Store? :confused3

This here is a fun bunch of crazy people.:joker::crazy2: Some are crazier then others. I cannot mention any names................that would be inappropriate..............(hey guys did you see I used a big word...................inappropriate...................and I didn't even have to look up the meaning in the dictionary...................or look up how to spell it. Spell check was a big help though!!! ) Any ways, welcome aboard!!!:thumbsup2

The gals are coming over for FE crafting, pre-cruise check in, and I am making lunch/dinner.... That's what y'all are missing with us on a cruise: my cooking. I am an awesome cook. Making French dip sammies, tots, a salad, and peanut butter oatmeal chocolate fudge cookies.

We usually have them in the shop--but you can always pick buttons up at Guest Services. I will set aside one for you. I am usually backstage until after 5 pm on Saturdays (there is always one artist onstage and one painting backstage every day) so just have another cast member come get me. See you real soon!

I will be sure to ask a cast member to get you when we get there. :thumbsup2 :worship:Again, thanks Anne for doing this.:worship:

I'm pretty darn proud of myself. There are not very many times this kinda thing is going to happen gang. This kinda thing just don't happen to ol' David here!!! Surprises the heck out of everyone!!!! Donna can probably count on one hand how many times this kind of thing has happened in all of our years. :confused3

Hi y'all! I've just booked the Old Town Hotel. It's not especially near the port, but it's in the Old Town area (duh!) and we got a room for $101/night including tax. It's also rated #19 out of 269 by tripadvisor. Only downside(s) may be it's close to a superhighway, and it allows pets (which may be noisy). It does get very good reviews. We figure we're going to take a cab to the port anyway with the 15 steamer trunks we're taking (just kidding – although sometimes I think we're headed in that direction!). And we're flying into LAX then driving down the coast to San Diego. What is everyone else doing for hotels? See You Real Soon! Richard

Thanks to our friends we are staying at the Holiday Inn, Gaslamp, on points whoop whoop ttxx

Anyone ever cruise alone? I am looking for tips (beyond how to take really good selfies) for the Panama Canal crossing!

No I've not ever cruised alone but I do know that they sometimes have singles get togethers on the ships.

If you make a lot of friends on here before you leave it will be like you are cruising with 200 of your closest friends instead of alone :thumbsup2
