Our fourth trip begins in 19 days:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: we have never been to Ripleys or wonder works ( except Ripleys in blackpool:lmao:) kids are 13 and 15, we want to do a few different things this time, they have some books on ripleys and its gorey exhibits, dont know much about wonderworks, except for passing it in the car, any views on either place? If you have done both, which would you recommend? Thanks Claire :thumbsup2

Do both! I love both and neither take a full day. We went to Ripleys first, had a bite to eat the took the Itrolley to wonderworks after.

Both are great. Ripley is ripleys, weird and wonderful, lots of interesting things to see, wonky rooms etc.

Wonderworks has lots of interactive bits. :D

Have a google, if you can I'd definitely try to do both :D I've been to both twice and will be happily going again next year :D

we did wonderworks a number of years ago - when the kids were teens...
we did it one afternoon or evening for a few hours...
my kids loved it but they were both very geeky kids...

we never did ripley, so i can't compare them..

isn't there also that really scary place....the one where people jump out at you?
we always wanted to go there and then chickened out...what's it called... i can't remember...

Hi, is it something kingdom? .?.? I don't think I would get them in there, they freaked out in the live part of Madame tussards and wouldn't go in the live saw action maze at Thorpe park!

My plan for Ripleys or wonder works is to tag it on to a water park, or a shopping trip.

Thanks for the info :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

It was Skull Kingdom, at the top of I-Drive. We went in there in 2005 and it was absolutely terrifying. Sadly, it has closed down now.

We last went to Wonderworks in 2006 and were very disapponted - a lot of the interactive exhibits weren't working and the whole place was looking very tired. I hope they have improved it/fixed it up a bit as the first time we went, in 2004, it was really good - excellent VFM.

There's also something in Kissimmee I remember as a kid. It was still there in 2009 and we were planning to go but didn't have time.

I can't remember the name but it's something obvious like 'The haunted house' lol. I found it on google for last time.

I remember going at 10 and having to go back to get my dad! I wanted to go through but it scared me lol He had to pay to come with me lol

Then again at 14 and it wasn't scary any more, but my kids will love it :D

Man... skull kingdom nearly gave me a heart attack. My best mate and I did it. Think we were about 22 at the time and were well up for it. We couldn't wait for it to end!!! We ran out as quick as we could at the end.. much to the amusement of everyone else in the gift shop watching on.

Anyways, Wonderworks was pretty cool when I went. Lots of interesting stuff. Probably only need a few hours tops there, though. I imagine there is plenty more to see at Ripleys, and if your kids have the books I would stick with that choice.
