Wonder, Waves and Wishes. 18th October 2009. Remembering the waves!

That sounds like a great idea. Anyone else????

Sounds PERFECT!! September 1st cut off it is...

Anyone else done a FE? I have a question. I'm one of those people who are GTY. I should have a room set up within the 30 days before booking, but what if a room is changed at port/last minute. Any good way to relay that change to the rest of the cabins????

Good question. And how is the list broken down into who delivers to whom? Will we do it by the same floors, etc? That seems to make sense to me. Could we find out our room number changed as late as when we got on board? I don't know what would happen if our room number changed after unless we put a note in the FEs on our list to let them know that our number changed.

That's a great idea! If there is a room change at the last minute it'd be a great idea to leave your new room number in the FEs when you deliver.

It looks like our FE list is on the small side, so we'll be delivering to everyone. There are several people who wanted their "designated day" to deliver to be on a certain day due to what type of FE gift they are planning. Others I was just planning to "plug in" as it gets closer to the time.

Is everyone ok to receive the final list/count on September 1st? Will that work for everyone's gifts? I was planning to finalize the list & email it out to everyone on September 1st. Then we can update it as the GTY cabins are assigned closer to sail date. :)

Sound good?

Also, I checked on a question I asked a few days ago about onboard credits and what happens to them if we don't use them. I found out that all onboard credits (from your TA and from using your Disney Visa to pay for your vacation) will be lost if not used. I plan to use every dime!! I'm sure it won't be a problem.

I have another question. I know there are a lot of photos taken that we can purchase. Can we make that decision after seeing all of the photos or do we have to decide if we want the picture in a certain time limit per photo?

We had one cabin that had a "change" list posted on the door. We knew to check there first and then deliver- the people that changed only had to let one person know, and all the rest of us just knew to start distributing there.

Worked out pretty well. We thought about trying to upgrade at the port for this cruise because sometimes you can get a great deal, but I think we're going to wait and do it at Christmas now.

You can wait and buy all your photos at once towards the end of the cruise but the later in the cruise the longer the lines get at Shutters.... (and they are open a couple of hours on debarkation day for those that wait till the last, last minute!):thumbsup2

Are the photos pretty expensive? I have the worst luck with pictures, eyes half closed, head too forward or back. About how many times do you end up having your pictures taken?

A single 8x10 was $20. They have packages available but I don't remember how much, sorry. We got our photos taken as we got on the ship and at dinner every night. We didn't wait in the lines for the character photo ops, but there's at least one of those nightly, and we saw some candids from around the pools and Castaway Cay- those seemed to be more of the kiddos.

I'm not very photogenic either, but they usually take a couple shots each time. We got a free 8x10 with our Romance at Sea package and ended up getting one from dinner on pirate night. They all have neat borders around them (at least the 8x10s from dinner do).

I'll see if I can get mine scanned and I'll post it.

Great!! I would like to have at least one of us. That's not as expensive as I thought either.

Is anyone concerned that this is the first trip after dry dock? I saw something on another thread about the water in the pools being brown for weeks after the last dry dock...

Does anyone know if this cruise is fairly full or not? My sister and her family were able to book just a few weeks ago. They did get waitlisted for main seating, though. Any thoughts on that?

I'm staying on DVC points - so I'm unsure if there will be any compensation if the ship is not cruise-ready by the 18th...

I've read that same thread. I don't know a lot about dry dock, surely though it won't be a problem. I think the green pool problem was from one poster, right? I cannot imagine why it wouldn't be cruise ready. But then, this is my first cruise so I am in the dark completely. I guess the good thing about the ship not being full, some of us might get a shot at being upgraded. Any one have any thoughts besides my ramblings?

We had friends on the first trip on the Magic after drydock. They said the crew was still finishing. Like painting in places and still replacing carpet- that kind of thing. Nothing that got in the way or took away from the cruise- although they said the food wasn't up to par from other cruises they've taken.:confused3

We knew about it when we booked and are looking forward to it. Some of the crew members we were friendly with are working the drydock and are taking the cruise as vacation! So we plan on chilling and hanging out.

:yay:

Thanks for the info! Somehow I missed it in my packet. I guess I read it too fast. I was worried that I was going to miss the date. Wouldn't that be horrible!!!???

I was thinking about doing the tour of Nassau, just because it will be our kid's first visit to another country. But if there was a large enough group, I wouldn't even mind doing a walking tour instead. Would anyone be interested in this?

Oh, I SHOULD be working, but it's rainy and dull outside and I'm wishing to be on our cruise. :rolleyes1 We had planned to do a little walking through Nassau. I'll probably go to the seminar to get a map of the "best" places to shop and where they give out freebies. What type of walking tour are you thinking about?

We were the 2nd or 3rd cruise on the Magic after dry dock last year. They were replacing some parts of carpet and painting some, but nothing that bothered us. In fact I thought it was normal maint the ship did.

What we did on our last cruise with FE was all pick a place and time to meet on the ship for those of use that were participating. Then we handed out the list and magnets and made any changes to rooms at that time.
