Well its final, I just booked out air fare ?

Who are you flying with??? We are waiting for Southwest to come out with their October rates, right now they are only booking through August. I was going to go through AirTran but by the time we pay the baggage fee for all of us each way that is an extra $200.

We are staying at The Homewood Suites on I Drive. I couldn't afford to stay on site and cruise.

We've just got back from Disneyland Paris, a mini Disney fix. We stayed here http://www.dlp.info/Guide/Hotels/Disney-Hotels/Disneys-Hotel-New-York.asp and had a great time.

We are flying Airtran. When I was looking everyone was charging the baggage fee of $15 so it didn't really make a difference. I was able to get web special fares for $59 plus taxes making it $160 a ticket which to us is great since to fly out of Des Moines is over $400.

That is cheap, my plane tickets have cost about $3500 for 2 adults and 2 kids.

From what I heard the Magic was still being worked on when the passengers embarked. All the pools were full of green water and the feeling was that the ship needed finishing off before fare paying passengers got on it.

I so hope this doesn't happen on our cruise. Maybe they had enough complaints after the Magic dry dock that they will make sure not to make the same mistakes again.

They were still replacing carpet when we were on the Magic but we just walked around them. Nothing I would really complain about. I think we were 1 week after the dry dock.

We will be on this cruise, our first!

Me, DH, DD (8), DS (3) and my Mom. Also, two weeks ago, we learned my MIL, my SIL and my niece had "decided" to join us.

I'm a bit worried about the drydock issue. Especially since the dates were bumped to 10/2/09 - 10/17/09. I am hoping someone here can make me feel better about this, since I don't think we can change it at this late date....we would lose too much money and my DH already took this specific week off from work.

Not only is this our first cruise, it is a gift to our daughter for her first communion. We are not throwing her a big party to give her this gift. I would hate for the whole thing to be ruined, which I fear it would be if the same issues that happened on the Magic happened on the Wonder.

What a wonderful gift for your daughter. We do something simliar. We offer the boys small weekend trips instead of B-Day partys they are happy and we all get away for awhile. Saves me planning for something thats going to cause
me more work in the long run.

I am trying to decide how we are going to do Atlantis. If we go through Disney it is going to be around $500. We can book a room ourselves through Atlantis for $260 and Comfort Suites is the same. I just worry about them frowning upon us cruisers coming in on our own.

The lady at Atlantis told me to get a day pass.

WOW this post has been busy. Last time I was on there was only 4 pages.
Good to see so many more cruisers!! We just came back from a last minute trip to Orlando and couple of days at WDW. Best last minute trip there is!!!

Crusing this time will be myself Julie (42) and DH. No kids as we are empty nesters. My son will be in the college program starting this August so we will plan to visit him after the cruise.


This will be our second cruise. We will be celebrating our 23 anniversary and then going to WDW after the cruise for a few days. We plan to go to the MNSSHP this year also.

To answer a couple of questions I remember from a few posts back:

The FE is very fun to do. We did it on our last cruise and we are adults only. Fun for us "old" people too. I agree that one day should be fine. I did every night on our 3 day cruise. While I love giving the gifts, it is very time consuming. I made post it note holders, CD of music from the ship and will probably do that again ( sorry to spoil the surprise) I cant resist, it was a big hit last time.

On our last cruise, we went into Nasau. Not this time!! I may venture into the Straw Market for a short time only. Cant resist the knock of purses. Very hot and closed in. We did take a cab to Atlantis just to say we did last time. I was not impressed and will not make that mistake again. I have heard that the Atlantis water park is fun. We just didnt want to do that but those with kids may enjoy that. I would not want to take kids into the town part. I personally thought it was dirty, and shady.
Sorry to sound snooty as I am as easy going as it comes. Just my opinion.

I will try to look back at the past posts and see what other questions I may be able to help with. I am no way an expert but would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

On our last cruise last October we did the photo mat at CS. It turned out amazing!! I chose to use a black mat and had gold and silver sharpies. Thought that it would look great with a aniversary picture and it did. Last I heard they were still doing it. I heard from friends that went this past Feb and they had one done. I think maybe that would like people to limit the amount of items they have signed. Really a must do!!

I didn't do this last time because my boys are a little past the autograph stage or the pillowcases...so I really like the photo mat idea...

The last cruise we did 2 photo mats and 2 pillow cases and that was this past oct. They did not say anything about too many items.
