Wonder, Waves and Wishes. 18th October 2009. Remembering the waves!

Hi everyone..just wanted to check in...baseball season is starting so it will be nuts around here..lol.

Hope everyone is doing good and that we get a little more "chattie" as we get closer ...LMAO.

Good afternoon everyone!!! It's dreary and cold here, a step up from yesterday and the day before when it was rainy, dreary and cold. I just thought I'd tell whoever planned to bring your own snorkel equipment that the Dollar Store has the mask, mouth thingy and fins for $8. Sam's Club also had a much more advanced and "prettier" set but it was $40.00. Since we don't really plan to snorkel a whole lot, the Dollar Store's equip. was more worth my money. And I can pitch it if I want before we get back on the ship.

Haley and I have also been working on our fish extenders. I decided not to buy one off Ebay but instead make ours. I bought two canvas bags at Hobby Lobby and we've decorated them with puff paint with our favorites things, like basketballs, volleyballs and Mickey heads and hidden mickeys. I just need to figure out how to attach them together, though I think I have a plan. Is anyone else going to make their own?

Mom is making ours FE. I helped with changing the colors for the embroidery machine. I think she has everyones finished, now we have to start on the gifts. Hint, I will probably be able to change the thread in my sleep by the time we are done with the gifts.:rolleyes1

Team Tinkerbell, what about getting some Disney ribbon and attaching it along the sides of the bags to join them together. I'm not a sewer but I would think that some heavy glue would work to glue the ribbon on both sides of the bag and then to its self before being glued to the other bag. Maybe someone craftier has some other ideas.

I don't know about anywhere else but winter is reminding us that it is possible to have snow on the ground into April.:sad1: I hope someone is having sunshine and warm weather and could send it our way.

Zach's Mom, I've thought of that too. We're going to finish our "works of art" and then we'll go back to the Hobby Lobby and see what we can find. I like the ribbon idea. I am not a seamstress at all, so it might have to be fabric glue with a few stitches here and there.

Has anyone seen inexpensive plastic beads or buttons that are in the form of a Mickey's head? Haley is doing a little craft in addition to our FE gifts that we started getting this weekend and she's got her heart set on it having a Mickey on it. I found something on Ebay but it wasn't really what she wanted. I've googled 1000 times with out luck.

Zach's Mom, sorry to hear you have snow. We had tornado watches here all night.

Ooooo....good luck finding the Mickey head beads...I can't WAIT to see all of the cool FE gifts! :)

Been busy at work here. Made another payment on the cruise - that makes me feel better. LOL!! :) Still need to book my ground vacation & airfare. Haven't decided if I'm going to do the dining plan (my DS is now an 'adult' at 10, but definitely doesn't eat like one) & where we are going to stay........

I need to work on our FE gifts. I would like to get them done ahead of time. We are using the same FE we used last time. I hand made ours it was not as hard as I thought it would be and turned out ok.

I don't understand how a 10 year old can be considered an adult as far as dining. Even with Z being 11 somedays he eats less than a five year old. Of course the next 2 he eats everything. (if only to have that metabolism again)

Well its official now, I have passed my last test for work so now I can devote more time to planning and crafting for the cruise, as DH rolls his eyes and says yes dear.

Has any looked into the excursion on Castaway Cay that includes, float rental, snorkel gear and bike rental for the day? I would love to do the kayak adventure but I don't want to tie up such a large part of the day with something I'm not sure we will all enjoy. Ideas???

Congratulations on passing your test!!! Now you can get on with more important things like looking forward to your trip!!;)

Haley will be 11 in May and weighs 64 pounds and doesn't eat like an adult. I have a hard time paying an adult price for her. I REALLY wish I had her energy and metabolism.

I bought some cheapy snorkel equipment for our day at CC and we might rent bikes. Other than that, we're going to shop and swim. I bought a couple of cheap floats as well.

We did the Stingrays and that was really neat. The kids had a blast and we got to snorkel a bit. Very hands on with the rays and you get to snorkel with them. It is not very long. The only advice is to get the first spot of the day before the water gets stired up so you get clear views.

I think it was about an hour long so we still had plenty of time.

I know! My boy turned 10 today & he definitely would be hard pressed to eat off the adult menu..... Sure, SOME days he can pack it away, but he's NOT INTERESTED in any 'adult' or 'adventurous' cuisine. LOL!!! I should work on my FE and/or FE gifts......

especially now that we are under 200 days!? Oh, any of you looking to do the Panama Canal repo in 2011??? We are SO going to do this one - don't care if he misses 2 weeks of school (if it's not before summer time). Going through the PC is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I just wish we had tentative dates.....
