If you read my earlier post you know the weather was horrible on our 3 night AP cruise 1/23-25, and that I was a little disappointed in the dining room service and food choices.
What I didn't mention was the Spa ... after all, with bad weather one must find something to do, right? Well I did and DH says we have the credit card bills to prove it! This was the best spa on any ship I've been on -- I have visited the spa on three different cruise lines.
Day One - weather forcast already looking glum. Booked ladies night and Aromaspa ocean wrap treatments.
Day Two - decided to skip Nassau and visit the Tropical Rainforest. Next cruise I will buy the length of cruise pass! First I visited the "mild steam room" -- didn't seem to mild for me and I got out of there fast. But the "mild sauna" was delightful, followed by a nice rain shower... Then finally the loungers in the main room opened up and I could enjoy one of those -- delightful!
That evening was my "Ladies Night" treatment. The massage was sooo relaxing, and my skin sure did need that facial. I even broke down and bought some of the face cleanser to bring home, and I'm using it now instead of soap (did I mention the look on the girl's face when I told her I used just plain bath soap on mine?) Then to sit on those heavenly heated lounges with a glass of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries -- take me away from it all
I also received a tour of the Rainforest room and discovered that the aromatic steam room was much more my style!
Day Three - Had an hour to kill before my ocean wrap. DH & DD decided to go explore Castaway Cay. I decided to go explore the Rainforest Room. I had the entire room to myself. I started in the Aromatic Steam Room -- then a little crushed ice on the skin, and a rain shower -- then to the sauna -- then I tried the Peppermint shower (couldn't really smell peppermint)-- so back to the sauna. Then to those marvelous loungers... I could spend hours here listening to the water....
Oh, here is my therapist for the ocean wrap! I just love getting slathered with mud and wrapped up in tin foil (really, remember how much fun mud was as a kid?) Then to have someone massage my feet & scalp while I let all those toxins drain out -- Love it! Then she cruelly made me get unwrapped (you do have to wash the mud off sometime, you know). But after a nice hot shower, I got to finish off with a back massage -- oh, I haven't been this relaxed in years!
I'm hooked on the Spa!
