Wonder sept 14--18 ??i know your there

Hi all,

I have been reading everyone’s posts about their plans for the upcoming cruise, so I thought I would drop a few lines and tell you about ours.

I’m not the kind of guy who gets overly excited about vacations but I must say that I’m really starting to look forward to this one. We are starting off our vacation with 7 days at Disney World-Coronado Springs(Sept. 7-14) followed by the cruise. My DW and DD6 will be flying out of Buffalo on Southwest on the 7th, while I will be leaving on the 5th and driving to Orlando. As for the timing of the trip, I like the large savings that can found during the Autumn, together with the absence of large crowds. Although our trip coincides with my daughter’s first 2 weeks of Grade 1, I can’t imagine it will have any long-term impact on which University she gets into. Anyway – that’s the short of it. I hope to meet a few of you onboard and share a few drinks. ( not actually the same drink… you know what I mean ;) ).

Regards,

Hubby, Myself and 19-month old are going.
This will be our 4th cruise, first time on Disney.
We've done RCCL and Carnival.
Should be interesting with a baby.
Happily, we booked cat. 11, got an upgrade to cat. 8.
Now we just need to get from Port to WDW resort after the cruise.

mbaker - congrats on the upgrade - just don't tell my two sisters! I booked them in a cat 10 and it doesn't look like they will be getting an upgrade. If they find out they could have spent less and probably been upgraded they will shoot me!!!!! Oh well, live and learn.

We will be catching the Avis shuttle at the port and picking up a car from them and driving to WDW after the cruise. I'm not sure if you can take the Disney transfers just one way or not. I never checked into them, but I'm sure someone on this board will know the answer.

mill - sharing a couple of drinks sounds fun, who knows after quite a few we might not care if we are sharing the same ones or not ;) Just think, it is the begining of autumn where we live but still summer weather on the cruise.

wow, the countdown clock is getting smaller YAY! 28 days till school starts here, you're right David, I don't think pulling my DD -8 2nd grade will affect her University status (and I'm a teachers kid!)

I must go shopping with all the summer sales, I think I need more clothes!!!

looks like more are coming but i think i am the only one who did not get upgraded:( but i am going:) i really cant wait!!!!!!!!!!

We got our brochure on shore excersions in the mail today!!!!
Now it's only a matter of time until we get the official doccuments!!!
(ok, it still could be a few weeks, but that's ok!!)
:D

Don't worry huckster, no one in our group has gotten an upgrade and we have 6 staterooms booked. That's ok, cuz I plan to have a great time anyways!!!!

Yeah, getting the excursion booklet is one step closer to the day being here!!

Here's to smooth sailing and good weather!

huckster - I haven't seen your countdown on how many sailings are left until we leave - please keep us updated!!!!!! The neat thing is August always flies by with getting the kids ready to go back to school, so September will be here before you know it!!!

Justmestace - You were upgraded to a two bedroom!!! How cool. Is that one of the Disney suites or are there other two bedrooms. On our last cruise in February we went to a cocktail party given in the Roy Disney Suite - Words can't describe it.

Gail

Gail....it's not the Walt or the Roy...there are two 2 bedroom suites, one step below the Walt & Roy. We have a triple balcony, 2 1/2 baths, dining table for 6. The Walt has a bigger verandah, and more space in the dining and living areas & a small library. We were in the same 2 bedroom last year, and it is plenty wonderful enough for us. I am sort of embarrassed about having it again, can't imagine how I'd feel if I were in the Walt or Roy.
To clarify....our friends on the cruise last year had two DD's ages 17 and 19, and they were in a category 5. I didn't want to tell them what room we were in, because I guess I felt guilty having younger kids and taking up so much space, especially since it was an upgrade. We're no different or better than anyone else, we just got lucky....and I didn't want to sound like I was bragging...so it was easier to avoid the topic of where our room was altogether.
We are sooo excited about being in the same room again, but there was no way I would have tried to pay for it again. I'd rather be able to go more often!

OOHHH I am green with envy!!! My hubby is sick of hearing me wonder when they will be here!

We have not technically started "packing" yet! However our clothes that we won't be needing until then are being "stored" in the suitcases or in a special spot in the closet designated for "cruise stuff!"
Hubby allowed me to "test pack" last week so I could make sure everything would fit and that we weren't forgetting something important!
ok. We can go now!:D

yes feenie, yes huckster, you may start pakcing now, only 1 month to go!

I've been sort of stashing "cruise stuff" in bags in the basement, maybe i'ts time to resurrect them!

A test pack would be in order!

gail

Doc are in hand and we wil fill them out soon.
We really don t need a test pack We have been on 3 cruises so we know how much to bring:p :p :p
Hang in there gang it is getting closer!

This is my first post, although I have been lurking for quite awhile. I am one of the 13 family members cruisin with Gail (#1Mouse). She will be so proud of me that I am finally posting:D This will be my first cruise and I have to admit, although I gave my sister a hard time about cruising during the peak of hurricane season, that I can hardly wait to board. See you all in September:Pinkbounc
