Wonder in Alaska!!! May 27, 2013

YOu can still get a konk cooler on the ship, they are not limited to CC. But they do taste a bit different without the salt air in your face and the sand under your feet. :drinking1

Yea...there is just something about sipping on a k.c. with the sand between my toes. I'll just have to change things up a little. No worries though. ;-)

We leave some, but the best advice I think I've ever seen posted is pack, then take half out! Truly, you will not wear half of what you think you will. In packing, I think the only thing that has not fluctuated in quantity at all is underwear....:lmao:

Hi Scooby! Someone on another thread once said "take half as much clothes and twice as much money!!":rotfl2: Also, I love your cocker spaniel- so adorable! We had a Jack Russell who loved to go on a boat too, Looking forward to meeting you, Aloha, Karen :goodvibes

Thanks Karen!

Unfortunately, one of the saddest days of my life will be happening this week. We will be putting her down, she is 14 1/2 and the best dog we've ever had. She grew up with my kids who are now 22, 20, 18, 17. Sorry to be a downer.... I'll be a mess the first time we take our boat out this next season.

I agree about the money.... Just have a lot of room on your credit card. :goodvibes

Is anyone interested in fishing in Ketchikan with us? We currently have a private boat reserved. We can take 2 or 3 more with us.:thumbsup2

We just booked a tour with Beyong Skagway Tours. We really wanted to go see the Emerald lake. They charge $120/hr for the whole car. They have 6passenger minivans and even a large 10 passenger van. Not sure how much availability they have for May 30, but I thought I would share. We thought about renting a car, but that was going to cost $220-$250, as we would need a minivan and car seats, from Avis not including gas. Plus, I would be the one driving and I dont want to miss anything ;). We are taking a 5 hour tour.

Just a reminder that I have tiaras available for the Champagne Girls if anyone needs one. The price is $8. Please let me know. I have 9 left.

I'm not sure, but I'm wondering if perhaps you would get more response if you posted up pictures...
I mentioned your offer to my family and I was actually surprised to learn that all the women in my group seem to have secretly been keeping tiaras around or know exactly where to find them. Who would’ve thought? Lol

So has the FE group been named or an image picked out yet?

I have no idea what got me thinking about this while walking my dog today, but the name Wonder in Alaska for Ladies and Tramps (WALT) came to mind... The image would be pretty easy since we could just photoshop Lady and the Tramp over any kind of Alaskan scenery. It doesn't really cover Memorial Day though...

I'm very sorry to hear about your furry child. I have one of my own and I can't imagine how difficult it will be if I ever have to make the decision to put her down. I hope all your happy memories with her will help you cope with her loss.

NWMom, where abouts in WA do you live (if you don't mind me asking)?

Arlington, WA exit 206 off of I-5.

Thanks Karen!

This is something that has entered our thoughts this week. Our Molly(Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) has been having weird "episodes". First one was in October, Second one yesterday took about 20 minutes to come out of. She's now on medication and under vet's order to take it easy. Followup next Friday.
For the humans in our house that means a sick bed on the couch and a sick movie.
Molly is happily wagging her tail and watching her favorite sick movie, Lady and the Tramp, under my dd's orders.

I know how much joy she has brought to our lives and understand what you must be going through.

What are you fishing for? What time, how long, with who, how much? :)

$130 each person, 4 hours, fishing for king salmon, if not biting, then bottom fishing. He is meeting us at the pier, at noon.

He also calls eagles in, and will feed them.
I am pretty sure my hubby would love to do this. I can't come or no one will catch anything over 3 inches.

Also wanted to say hello to mickeyhereicome- did you find a place to golf?
Skye

I have decided if my hubby wants to golf, he will have to find the place. I will just make all the arrangements, lol. I gave him the suggested courses. We will be in Seattle 3 full days, so he should have time.

DH says McCormick Woods is a great course. It is about an hour and a half out of Seattle though. It's in Port Orchard where he was raised.http://www.mccormickwoodsgolf.com/sites/courses/layout9.asp?id=568&page=29626

Just thought I'd throw this out there, not everyone on this thread is from the US so I don't think that incorporating Memorial Day into a group image should be taken into account. I'm sure is some wanted it that way it could be done, but to be fair to everyone maybe this holiday shouldn't be taken into account.
If anyone else wants to chime in please feel free to do so.

I agree with my DW Skye. Our Molly has not been doing well lately and I know we would miss her terribly if something happened to her. We have had her since she was born.

Hey everyone!

This is Jon and Janae and we just signed up for this cruise. This year our plan was September on the Fantasy in the Eastern Caribbean, but we got the itch and decided to move up our cruise to May so that we could have a nice first anniversary trip in a new and exciting place--Alaska! We sailed on the Fantasy last year for our honeymoon in the Western Caribbean and it was fantastic! That being said, we apologize for the tardiness, but we would love to be apart of the FE if there is still room!

Thanks for the suggestion on the course. It does look very nice, but I would need to figure out how to get him there. We are doing Seattle without a car. I think he will need to find a course closer to Seattle.

Welcome aboard.

AK is beautiful. We did a DCL AK cruise August 2011 and decided we had to go back this year.
