Wonder in Alaska!!! May 27, 2013

Question for the group: While I am technically savvy, I am not Facebook savvy. By joining the cruise FB group, am I granting the group access to my account, friends, etc?

Thanks in advance.

No, we had a very active Facebook group for our Hawaii cruise and I could only see the public profiles for those members that were not also my friends.

Welcome. You will not regret this cruise at all. We did it last year and couldn't wait to go back again.

I was on the Inaugural Alaska last year and posted on another thread that one of my fondest memories was playing Bingo with my husband on a sea day when a pod of whales came close to the ship! All of the bingo CM's ran over to the portholes to watch the whales breaching, and then everyone grabbed their cameras!! It was soo cool to see, and hope it happens on this cruise too!! Looking forward to meeting everyone, ALOHA, Karen and Ron:goodvibes

Just booked this cruise tonight! Looks like I have a lot of reading to catch up on! :goodvibes
I would like to join the Facebook page as well.

Hi everybody,

After finding out yesterday that the 2013 West-bound Transatlantic we were eagerly waiting for is no not going to happen, we have booked this cruise together with the LA-Vancouver repo preceding it.

We are DH (36 at time of cruise) and me (39). We are from Germany, don't have any kids and this will be our 6th cruise, all on DCL (all on the Magic, so this B2B will be our first time on the Wonder). We will also be celebtraing our 5th wedding anniversary during the cruise.

As for now, I am mostly concentrating on the B2B out of NYC we have booked for this summer, but after that I will probably be here a lot! :)

Welcome on board. Whereabouts in Germany are you from? I am German, but have lived in the UK since 1996.

Hi there, we are adults only travelling as well! (DH 62, me 53). We booked the last 7A navigator verandah room on deck 6, and it has great reviews so I think it was meant to be! I am trying to find out about private tour companys that may do these same excursions that Disney does. Generally, the private tour companys are much cheaper and less crowded. Anyone have any tour company suggestions?

There's a bunch of private tour companies mentioned in the long AK excursion thread that was started last year. It would depend on what you want to do and in which port on who could be recommended.

Thank you for the welcome! We live in the Northwest of Germany, about an hour's drive from the Baltic. So I guess you speak perfect German too - I think DH would love to talk to you on board, his English is really good but he gets tired if he has to speak it all the time. By the way, I love your trip reports! :goodvibes

Hi! We have a Navigator's Verandah on deck 6 as well, maybe we're even neighbours? :)

I am from the Frankfurt area, but my aunt, uncle and cousin live in Kiel so I spent quite a bit of my vacations during my childhood near the Baltic. Yes, I do speak perfect German and I would be only too happy to have a chat with your husband in German while on the ship.
