Wonder in Alaska!!! May 27, 2013

For those that are doing the Fish Exchange, how many of you have your Fish Extender yet?

We are starting to think out what we're putting on our FE and how Alaska-ish to make it. It's always fun creating one!

We just ordered our FE as this is our first cruise! We also have been having a great time gathering goodies for the FE!!

The cruise is coming up so soon!!! :thumbsup2

-Michelle

Who did you order it through?

check out etsy
and on ebay ... gradysmommy sells them too. (we ordered through her last year..and although I really like the FE... it is smaller than the ones she used to make.) and Tiffany cuts it really close on shipping it to you .... if you order from her.. say your cruise is earlier.)

Hi there. Your post made me smile. I live outside fairbanks and we reached about positive 20 today and had 9 and a half hours of sunlight today. No kidding, we opened our doors and windows and they kids played outside in the snow.

55-60 sounds so warm. I'll have to remember to pack shorts.

55-60 --- I am going to freeze. lol. I just ordered extra gloves... when we leave Atlanta.. it should be in the 90s by then.

My mother-in-law, Becky, who will be joining my wife and I on this cruise, she has her own Etsy shop

She also makes Fish Extenders, TShirts, etc.
We have already planned embarkation day shirts! :)

I called Disney Cruise Line during my lunch break.
Here is some good info the Cast Member gave me.

Dress for Dining:

  • Monday: Casual
  • Tuesday: Formal
  • Wednesday: Casual
  • ThursdaY: Casual
  • Friday: Casual - Pixar Pals Party (Indoor, Atrium)
  • SaturdaY: Semi Formal
  • Sunday: Casual

Was told (already knew this) that they...
  • Take requests for dinning rotations, but make no guarantees.
  • Can link dining reservations to eat with another stateroom.

Movies on Board:

  1. Pirates: Stranger Tides
  2. Avengers
  3. Brave (2D & 3D)
  4. Finding Nemo (3D)
  5. Frankenwinne
  6. Wreck It Ralph
  7. Lincoln
  8. Oz The Great and Powerful (In Theaters March 8)
Note: These movies are always subject to change without notice

I know that Iron Man 3 releases in theaters on May 3.
I'm sure (at least I hope) they will be updating this movie list to include the movie.

Thanks for the great info! I really hope they add Iron Man 3 as well. :)

Adding that the possible dining rotations are
APPLAPL
PLLAPLA
and
LAAPLAP

A= Animators; P = Parot Cay; L = Lumiers

If you're talking about trying to meet him in Epcot, I totally know what you mean. I saw him through the window once, but could never time my ADR's to meet him! On the hopeful side, for all I know Buzz and Woody won't be the only characters available at the party :)

I have met mini Remy like they have at Epcot at a restaurant at Walt Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris. I was more hoping in terms of the full-sized Remy. I know that they had Meets and Greets with Remy on the Pixar cruises.

Thanks for reminding me. I think I need to get my travel agent on the case. I normally take what I am given as far as dining rotations are concerned, but we keep missing the Rotational Dinner at Tritons so the second rotation would suit me best as neither of us is keen on the rotational dinner at Animators and if we have that on day 4, we are at Palo.

Right, we now have 16 Champagne Girls signed up and I just sent an email to DCL to see if they are willing to host Champagne girls for us.

Marise,
once I have heard back from my contact and know that she is definitely the right person to talk to, I will PM you her details.

Fantastic, I'll get DH on designing a lanyard card (like how I volunteered him? :lmao:). I'll wait to see what our FE logo is like and I might end up incorporating that into it as well. Though I like the idea of a globe since we have DisBoard members from all around the globe on this sailing :thumbsup2 If I need any help, I'll definitely let you know Matt. Thanks!

Before I discovered how great acupuncture is, I would wear the patch behind my ear, and take meclizine (the active ingredient in dramamine) about 4 times a day....

I did get the number to the contracted spa company, and I plan to call them today. :offtopic: Anyway, if anyone is considering it, it is well worth the money.

Lori:wave2:

Fantastic idea - I've gotten acupuncture before for other things but never thought to do it onboard for motion sickness. I get horrible motion sickness, which is why I was hesitant to cruise again (though since we're in the Inside Passage both to and from Alaska, I relented to DH). Our last cruise (LA to Vancouver) we had a little bit of rough water one night - coupled with low blood sugar & being pregnant (i.e., not being able to take any of the good strong drugs), I nearly flew home from San Francisco because I was so miserable that night. Let me know if you find out if they'll be there!

Funny you asked, we just got our FE from Gradysmommy yesterday. I'm pretty happy with it. I think it's super cute!

Can you PM me her Etsy shop? My DH wants us to do embarkation day shirts, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get around to doing it myself. Thanks!

Champagne Girls Update

I email DCL today to see if they would be able to host a Champagne Girls event for us. The answer is yes in principle, but we need 25 paying adults for this to go ahead. The cost is $20 per person, which will be added to the stateroom account.

No Lumiere's, Triton's on the Wonder

When we sailed out of Vancouver 5/2011 we had:

P- Formal at sea
T-casual Tracy Arm
A-casual, Animater's show night Skagway
P-Pirate night Juneau now Pixar night
T-casual, Ketchikan
A-semi-formal at sea

Has anyone confirmed that the rotations for Alaska have changed?

Did they by any chance say when this might be? I'm just thinking that perhaps some people who are on the fence would be inclined to sign up knowing the time.

My apologies, I mixed up which ships have Lumiere's versus Triton's. I'm sure about the orders though because I put in a special request for rot 2.

That's awesome! We're in Utah, and it's been cold here. We are cheering for the 40's this weekend. It's so dry here, when we go to California (where I was raised) 55 and 60 is shorts weather for us too. :joker:

I sent a rough draft out tonight of the FE list. Please let me know if I need to make any changes etc. This is the first of many emails from me!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for putting this info together. I responded - twice - made a mistake on the first one. Boy is it late!

No, they time line at the moment is that she will contact me again at 30 days out to see if I have 25 people together. If I have, she will then contact the ship and they will give a yes or no and date and time.
