Wonder--10-day Hawaii to Vancouver 9/17/2015

Count us in. My DW and I are planning on a few days at Aulani before also. We are also planning on the 4 day B2B to San Diego. I am just a little hesitant to book it right now with all of the problems a similar B2B had before. How do others feel about this issue?

Personally, I wouldn't book the Hawaii/Vancouver; Vancouver/San Diego B2B. It violates the PVSA. I'm afraid that there will be a repeat of the September 2012 debacle, where DCL told those B2B cruisers 3 months out that they had to cancel one of the cruises. Remember, lots of airline fares, hotel reservations, other vacation plans can be non-refundable that close to the date.

Travel insurance would probably be a REAL good idea for these cruises.

Thanks! We were just at Aulani a few weeks ago (in a Grand Villa!) and have just fallen in love with the place.

We spent a couple of nights in Waikiki at the beginning of April in the Marriott and it was nice. On the other end of the vacation, we spent one night at the Sheraton Waikiki and it had a spectacular view.

I love that view from the Sheraton! My DH and I stayed at the Hyatt Place Waikiki for 2 nights in January, but it had no view (1 block from the beach)! I will probably spend a few nights in Honolulu pre-cruise and stay wherever our hotel points allow.

I would like to spend a few days in Vancouver post-cruise, and maybe take the ferry to Victoria and/or Amtrak to Seattle. That appeals to me more than ending in SoCal - even if the Vancouver to San Diego cruise were legal.

Coming from the Seattle area and looking forward to warm sunny days. Wish we did not have to wait over a year to enjoy Hawaii and the cruise. My wife and I are planning on doing pre Honolulu and post Vancouver cruise stays.

We're going to try and stay a few days at Aulani as well - I hope that it's not going to be hard to get DVC reservations since I have a feeling there's a fair amount of us planning on doing that ;)

I'm already going into planning mode even though it's so far out - I've been trying to find trip reports for Hawaii, but so far have only found a few. I'm also trying to figure out how they'll structure a 10 day (as far as # of formal nights, etc) because we've only done a 7 day previously.

My husband and I will be joining you all on this cruise. This is the farthest out we have ever booked and we are VERY exited for months of planning. It will be my 8th DCL cruise and my husband's 4th. Aloha!!

You are right, but those who got shafted by DCL in Sept. 2012 are probably smart enough to not book this as a b2b!

oh no! i meant we're joining this thread cause we're going on the 10-nite hawaiian cruise! i really wasn't paying too much attention to the discussion about the hawaiian/vancouver/san diego thing because we're not doing that..although i did think about it...i do hope it gets resolved though...

Just to supplement the pictures I posted about the views from our Waikiki hotels, here is one of the view we had at Aulani:

Welcome! I misunderstood your "us" post...sorry!

All the talk about the B2B to San Diego got me worried so I asked my TA to look into it and this is her reply:
I spoke with an agent (Diana) who checked with a supervisor (Kat) and kat has advised that Disney Cruise Line is looking into the issue and they should have an answer regarding the situation in a few weeks. She said that they would contact me as soon as they have a definitive answer on the situation and then I can let you know any new information that they provide.

I'll let you all know. Bonnie

Sorry for the double post...no idea how that happened and not sure how to delete it.

You'd think DCL would've looked into this BEFORE they allowed people to book the b2b! They couldn't do the b2b in 2012, and I don't think the law has changed.

I sent DCL a message on their web site about this last week, and got an auto response that they would get back to me. It will probably be when pigs fly! :teeth:

I also have a deposit paid on this cruise. Not 100% sure I'm going but thought I better jump in and book when it was released as the price only goes up.
