Woman arrested for allegations of sneaking kids in

I'm not attacking Disney or anyone working there

But we need better security protocols, this woman should not have been able to leave the first land. They have no way to radios someone at the end of the street to get a person before they make it all the way to the pier?

Its like how the guy stripped in small world and made it to the front of the ride, Disney just needs to have people ready to get to any situation within 5 mins or less. I know its not on the CM's to touch people but always makes me worry if someone attacks me they have like 10 mins of time before anyone would stop them

I get where you're coming from and I agree. But I think the woman got as far as she did due to poor upper management rather than just a lack of protocols.

I think part of the problem is that both the CMs and Disney's Security Staff need more 'back up' from management. From what I've been told the issue is that IF there is an 'incident' between a guest and a CM or Security that results in a complaint, bad PR, or a lawsuit, management tends to hang them out to dry. Until you have management that will stand behind the judgement of their staff and back them up, that staff is always going to think "Is this going to land me in hot water?" or "Why should I bother since nothing's going to happen to the guest anyway" before they take action. I'm not saying that staff shouldn't be disciplined for egregious behaviour or a total lack of judgement, just that they should feel that TPTB has their back.

Sure whatever they need to do

This is not on the CM's but the issue of needing to be the minute a CM needs help they can radio in and someone is within 5 mins to stop it. But I keep hearing about things like even at WDW where fights have gone on for over 10 mins before anyone who can touch guests arrived

Disney on this just needs to do better...you make us stand in line to check bags. Hire enough people to make sure if something does happen it can be stopped ASAP not....10+ mins away a lot can happen in 10 mins

Sad all around. There had to be a better resolution on disneys part other than handcuffing her in front of her kids. They should have told her to pay for their tickets or leave.
Reportedly they did offer that and she refused.

I completely agree. A few years ago a fight in Toon Town went viral. What shocked me while watching the footage was how long it went on before security showed up.

Whether it’s a communication issue, radio equipment, management issue or staffing issue, it should not take DL that long to intervene.

In this case, handling it sooner would have been better for all guests, her children and the staff.

Years ago, you used to see a lot more of the security people out walking around with their ear pieces like Secret Service folks. Like so many things, all that changed after COVID . I think they are all in a secret room watching on monitors and that’s why it takes them so long to get there.

Last year, we saw a man berating his wife and child back near Monsters Inc., just screaming at her. Don’t know if he was just a jerk or if alcohol was involved. I felt so sorry for her. In the way back(and I know you kids get tired of hearing it), you just didn’t see that kind of behavior at Disneyland. I miss it….

She wasn’t arrested for sneaking her kids in, she was arrested for refusing to give her identification to a police officer, which is basically obstructing justice or disobeying a police officer. At any point up until then she could have complied and not been arrested in public in front of her kids. Seeing the video, I felt like she was intentionally acting out in an attempt to bolster a court case, which I still expect she will lose.

That kind of trouble used to be contained to just there but now that ToonTown's been gentrified it's spilling out everywhere!

Per reports, she described herself as a FT stay-at-home single mother. I’m guessing her kids (3 and 4) aren’t in school yet. Sounds like she (Magic Key holder) visits Disneyland with them in high frequency. Shes right - people regularly pass older children as under 3 - but her regular visits likely caught Disney’s attention and put her on the radar.

I’ve watched tons of arrest videos on YT though the years. People continue to argue/ not comply with law enforcement - even after being threatened with arrest - because they don’t think anything’s going to happen to them. I’m guessing that’s what happened here - she’s young and refused to comply because she didn’t feel she did anything wrong and felt invincible.

Disney refuses to say whether they revoked her pass.
