No argument there, but before that, the woman should have stayed out of his bed.How about the fact that the guy should have kept it in his pants???

Or.... he should have stayed out of hers. When extending a travel invitation to a friend then discovering there is only one bed, it would have been the gentlemanly thing to do to offer to sleep in the chair or on the floor. Then it would have been a generous and trusting thing for her to do to offer to share the bed as long as platonic terms were negotiated. No argument there, but before that, the woman should have stayed out of his bed.
the original post I responded to included the perimeter "if the story contains factual information".

Again factual or not many people are charged with crimes and then released.
My point is we really don't know if he did anything illegal.
As I said before if he is found guilty I would be happy to lock him up and throw the key away. However as you stated, there is a rape culture in the US and times the charge is made and then proven wrong.
Yes, they both made foolish and immature decisions... but *his* decision was deciding to do something illegal. Even in her drunken state after foolishly misplacing her trust, she STILL did nothing illegal.
Mod here, am I missing something..? Since November I've had only three reports - only one from a user who would match those asterisks and in that case it was a request to merge two threads into one. Everything else I've found on my own. Perhaps ironically nothing in this thread led me to it until the comment about mods, which led to someone (not her) flagging the thread for moderation. If you guys are concerned about members trawling threads to help newbies - by and large what she does - I'm more than happy to have that conversation with you. I am not sure it is her fault if helping is pointing out the rules from time to time, and as a mod I appreciate her giving them the heads up. Without us all chiming in questions would go unanswered - we mods just haven't the time to hit everything!![]()
My response was to another post which has been deleted, so clearly is now out of context, clearly I can't say what I was agreeing to, as it was deleted.
This subject was not about any Moderation, rather the other poster was referring to another posters activites, which have been noticed by many. People not being invited on cruise meets threads, and not on that cruise, posting and assuming others can't organise a FE or have the skills to do so.
Again I didn't post the original item with the asterisks but just agreed.
I only wish some members would take this to heart instead of trolling threads they don't even belong in so that they can tattle to moderators. I won't name names, but ******** ******.
Same bed. See the Orlando Sentinel story HERE.We don't know the set up of the room. It could have had 2 beds or a pull out couch. So would she have been in "his" bed if there were two beds or a couch?? She could have been paying for the room so was it "her bed??? He does not have the right to touch her!!
it says in the news article (from the first post) The victim told officers that while the pair slept in the same bed, she was clear with Pogson “she wanted nothing more than a friendship from him” and nothing happened the first night. We don't know the set up of the room.
