My DH and I will have a rare night out without kids during our Nov. trip (MIL and FIL have graciously agreed to babysit). We will be staying at SSR, and will be able to walk to DTD. I would like to try Wolfgang Puck's, but am unsure about whether to try the cafe or the dining room. Please help me choose! Which has the better: food? atmosphere? service? Thanks for your help.

I went to Wolfgang Puck Cafe with my wife on Wednesday for lunch/snack, while the kids played at DisneyQuest for a couple of hours.

We had a great time. She was sipping Strawberry Daiquiri's and I had a couple of beers. We shared a pizza and ate outside looking at your beautiful resort.(SSR) There was noone else outside and a light breeze off the lake. The music outside was a bit loud, but we ate some flatbread and our pizza and sat and talked a while.

With three boys (12,10,9) at home we don't get much quiet time.

I think that the cafe is a perfect place for a nice dinner. We had thought about the dining room on our last visit, but was talked out of it because of slow service, and menu choices.

Good Luck with your decision, it will be a fun time either place.

We ate at the dining room last March and it was wondeful. I honestly enjoyed it more than Cali grill. It is a much more leisurely meal than the cafe but also much more upscale and quiet. If I had to pick a fav restaurant it would be this one. We will be dining there again this Sept.

DH and I were wondering the same thing. We wanted to eat at one of Wolfgang Puck's places, and we decided to get a PS with the Dining Room. I'm sure that either would be fantastic!

have a great time!

For what it's worth, we're trying Puck's upstairs dining room in October.
While I'm sure it's nice, the cafe part sounds pretty ordinary for your night out w/o the kids--.

We've had dinner upstairs only once and that was several years ago. It is much more quiet than downstairs in the cafe at dinner.

We do enjoy the cafe but it is very busy and noisy at dinner. Part of my family had dinner there this month. My DH wished it had been lunch instead...much more peaceful then. I understand it is a favorite of cast members too at dinner.

There is a third option...Cafe Express or something like that. Be sure you don't do that.

Anyway, although the food in the Cafe is great, I would agree with Uncleromulus that it isn't quite the atmosphere that I would want for a special night out.

Thanks for all of your responses. We will probably try the dining room. Will post a review when we return.
