The Wolfgang Puck Cafe in Downtown Disney looks really good - I have been scanning their menu. Has anyone been recently for dinner?! Thanks for your opinion!

We were at WPC at Xmas time this past year and have another ADR for our upcoming trip in a few weeks...

We really like it, DD loves the chocolate fondue desert.

I am sure you wont be disappointed...I think it is one of the more unique restaurants in Disney with exceptional food quality and it never seems to be very crowded.

We were there last November (I know, it's not so recent) We disliked it and won't go back. We found it to be overpriced, the food was mediocre and the servings were small. Our waiter was snotty.
For us this is the worst restaraunt we've been to at WDW.

Five of us went. Four of us disliked it & one thought it was "ok", but said he wouldn't go again. We all had different dishes & tried the other's, but no one liked it at all. Our service was horrible & we had a reservation, which they stated they didn't have a record of, even though we had a confirmation # & it was very difficult to get in. In fact, we ended up having to sit outside. Maybe some of this contributed to our negative perception of WPC.

However, if you think that the menu has interesting meals, I say go for it, because everyone's tastes are different. You will always find people that love it, too.

The hubby and I went there for our Honeymoon, and it was fantastic! The food was superb, and our servers were great. Granted, this was 4 years ago, :rotfl: but we loved it. They even gave us a special honeymoon dessert, yum! My hubby's a chef, and we've been to a few of WP's resturants, and our food's been great every time. :thumbsup2

went last week for dinner. It was good enough but not spectacular.I'd take Artist Point or California Grill over it any day!

We went this past May. It was the best meal of our trip :thumbsup2 . The food is very good and our server, Nick, was excellent. The only downside is the place is very loud.

I ate there a week ago today! It was fabulous! Best meal we had. I'm drooling just thinking about it. I had Pumpkin Ravioli which was out of this world! And my sister had macadamia encrusted chicken on garlic mashed potatoes. We were both beside ourselves with gluttony, having eaten so much there. I recommend it above all the other great restaurants we ate at and will be back there in a heartbeat on my next trip!

Someone I know went about a month ago and really enjoyed it.

We plan to eat there for the first time on our next trip so It's nice to hear these positive reviews. :thumbsup2

We have dined at WPC many times over the years and have always enjoyed it. We usually go for lunch though as it isn't as crowded as dinner.

There is so much variety on the menu everyone can find something they like. :thumbsup2

We may boycott it though as the restaurant is no longer accepting DDE. :confused3

we had terrible service there last summer. My macadamia encrusted chicken was wonderful, but everyone else's food was not good, and they were really snotty about dealing with my son's food allergy.

We would be willing to give it another try and see if it were just an "off" evening. We had a superb meal at Bongo's right next door a few nights later.

We go there at least once a month. We find that certain servers are not very attentive or maybe even aloof or rude. Others are great. Don't discount the place because of tales of poor service.

The food is pretty good. The pumpkin raviolis are great. The young spinach salad is very nice. I don't think I have had a meal there that I did not enjoy.

If you have an AP, they do honor the AP discount.

This is funny, these are the same two dishes my DH and I had in April and we loved them also. He had the chicken and I had the ravioli. Delicious!!!

DH and I ate at WPC (downstairs) in 01/05. We had a table right on the water. That was a surprise for us. We had not thought about waterview seating at that restaurant.

We did not have any special expectations. We thought it would be similar to other Disney TS dining.

We each ordered Fettucinni Alfredo, my favorite. It was really, really nice and much better than we expected.

I will eat there again on our next trip to the world. :thumbsup2

WGPC is our perennial favorite. Like the OP's said, it really depends on what you expect to get from WGP. The restaurant never claims to be one of the "best" in WDW/DTD. So I would just try to eat there once, and rate their food for yourself. By all mean don't judge the food base on the service.

what is DDE and why dont the except it???

DDE is DIS speak for Disney Dining Experience. It is a membership card that FL residents or AP holders can purchase. It provides a 20% discount at most WDW table service restaurants and a handful of counter service spots. But restaurants that are not owned and operated by WDW can shoose whether to participate from what we know here on the DIS. WGPC used to accept it.

I have no idea why they no longer do. :confused3

We always make a point of stopping by WP also. The menu is nice, flatbreads are delicious and they have nice sushi choices also. It has never disappointed us. Someone compared it to AP and CG, but pay no attention. That is an apples to oranges comparison.

Although with an AP, you get a 10% discount I believe, so you still come out a "little" ahead.
