I was wondering if anyone has experience or even pics or videos of watching World of Color from the area above the FP viewing and the Little Mermaid Ride? When I was there last year we did a fastpass and was really disappointed with the experience. We waited over 1 hour before the show started and were herded in when the ropes opened up. Then more and more people just crammed in until my view became pretty obstructed (i am 5' 3''). I noticed on that same trip that watching Fantasmic from the area behind the actual seating area was actually great! I had a great view of the show and was not crammed up with tons of people. I just wonder if I could get a similar experience with WOC on my upcoming trip in October. I have also considered the dessert party as an option because I have never seen the original WOC, only Celebrate. I just hate to spend the money on that!

I have watched part of the show from the plaza area right in front of the Little Mermaid entrance and it's not bad. some of the show is blocked by trees and things. it may be better more towards the right.

for me it seems like two different show experiences.

I have been able to see the show from the front rail and you get to see the fountains and light show at water level.

the first time I saw the show from more towards the back I was surprised by how much clearer the projections were. from the front you don't see the full width of the projections from one end to the other.

When we did get FP's we ended up in a section at the back next to the rope. People that just walked up were on the other side of this rope.
We didn't have any better view than they did.
With that experience I don't see any advantage to getting the FP at all.

We've viewed from in front of the LM ride with mixed results. DH is tall and he could see, but it was a very big picture view with little detail. I'm short and couldn't see much because of people walking in front of us and kids on shoulders. I would get the free FPs, scout the viewing area earlier in the day so you know where you want to be (plan A and B), then head to that spot as soon as you are allowed in. We've viewed WOC from all the sections, wet zone and in the back, and this plan works for us every time.

We were just there last week, on Thursday. My DS decided at the last minute to watch WOC (while we were in the park) and at 9:00 am they were still distributing FPs for the first show. We ended up getting tickets for the second (and last) showing at 8:45 pm, and they had plenty left for the 10:15 showing. In fact, it was relatively empty. Once the FP peeps were let in, anyone could enter and it never filled up.
