WOC viewing from GCH

Planning first trip to DL and staying at GCH. Saw that there is a "viewing deck" at the hotel for WOC. Curious what the experience is like from there, how early do you need to be there etc. I'm sure it doesn't compare to actually being in the park but was wondering if it was good enough to do on arrival day and then cross it off the list.

You just see pretty fountains.

WOC from the side is just that...you do not get any of the video, lighting or visual effects...just pretty fountains with lights.

While it is cool to see if you are just hanging out in that area and have time to kill, but it is no substitute or can come close to the came visuals as from the show viewing area.
