...good or bad idea? initially i thought "oh, cool...outdoor seating for dinner at 6:20pm"...then i read that someone else had outdoor seating at ariel's with a 5:30pm ressie...and the sun was beating down on them. now i'm re-thinking my "oh, cool" statement.

at 6:20pm next week, do you think the heat will be that bad? should i try to call for an indoor ressie? anyone have outdoor seating at ariel's recently for a WOC dinner???

The outside tables have shade covers. During warm months like now I would totally go for outside. In fact we are doing it in late June ourselves.

I was one who posted on the other thread. There are gaps in the shade covers and you can end up with the sun beating down, it happened to us, it was around 90 that day (May 2). Especially later in the day when the sun is lower on the horizon, it maybe below the covers depending on where you sit, I think that may have been more what happened to us. We wished we would have been more forceful requesting another section, there were alot empty in the center section (we were on the side), we did pass on the initial spot they gave us but they only moved us a couple tables. There were people who sat down near us and then quickly left after seeing the sun situation.

Looking at weather.com, May 28 is predicting a high of 76 so will probably be OK.

Sorry, are you talking about dinner or lunch? The other poster was asking about WOC dinner and I was replying to that. Since it is evening the sun is lower on the horizon and IMO not bad for dinner. Mid-day I could see it being an issue on a hot day.

Right now, weather.com says it is supposed to be 79 in Anaheim that day. Living here, I know that if it says that it will really be about 5 degrees hotter, unless there is a significant breeze. If you are there for and hour, 6:20-7:20, the Sun will be going down and will shining right on to, and possibly under the shade covers. The outdoor seating is on the West side of the building. so, if heat is really a problem foe you, i\I would try to move inside. besides, the inside is really pretty and the out side is just a big patio. :-)

It was dinner - we had a 5:20 reservation. I think the fact that it was around 90 that day made it worse. If it would have been 75 it probably would not have been a problem.

I was with Pat McDuck and she also posted on it:

I could see that being uncomfortable. If it is 90F at 5:20PM that is a very warm day. So a lot of other things were probably uncomfortable too. I have been there when it is 100 out and had a blast, but not as much fun a nice 80 degree day!

Fortunately that does not happen very often at DLR. :)

well, folks...i think i'm gonna "chance it"...and just keep my outdoor seating ressies at 6:20pm! i love the sun, but i do hope it's not too hot that evening! getting very excited about seeing WOC!!!!!!!
