So does everyone in your party have to have ENTERED the park to be able to get a FastPass for WOC?

As I mentioned in another thread, we were not planning on being at California Adventure for a large chunk of the day we wanted to see WOC on. Furthermore, OTHER THAN ME, the rest of my party are not exactly early risers ( well... neither am I, except when it comes to Disney Parks ! :D ). So I was wondering if I can get into the park early ( staying on site ) with everyone's passes, get fastpasses for WOC, then come back and let people do whatever they want...

No. The DLR FP system works likes this (for all FPs including WOC):

When an entrance ticket or AP is scanned at either DL or DCA (along with the ticket owner entering DL or DCA) the ticket/AP is initialized for FP collection at both parks. I have done this numerous times over the last six years. My family is in DL and we plan to go to DCA later that day. While they are shopping or doing a ride I want to skip (for us often it is Star Tours) I take everyone's entrance tickets with me and hop to DCA by myself and get FPs. Then I come back to DL and hook up with the group.

The key thing is that everyone must physically enter one of the parks, but once they have done so you can get WOC FPs or other FPs at either park.

The tickets have to be activated for the day in order to work in the WoC machines, so everyone needs to have entered either Disneyland or DCA. Sorry.

No sweat :) it's not a huge deal, I just wanted to know in advance. This way, if my people want to see WOC, I'll be able to definitively tell them they must come in with me.

that's what we did. we *opened* DL and when it was getting close to DCL opening, we sent a family member (with everyones tix) running over there to get fast passes to WoC.

That's good, I'll keep that in mind. However given all this, we are staying at GCV, it might just be easier to get everyone to come with me through the GCV entrance to DCA, get our fastpasses, then just hop over.

if every one in your group has already entered DCA or DL before having to a get FP for WOC you will not have to have your whole group go to the FP machines for WOC, just like hydro said-as long as each ticket has already been scanned at the turnstiles for DL(or DCA) they do not all have to go with you to FP WOC machines, you can be the runner..but all the tickets have to be activated at the turnstiles prior to getting an FP

Right. I just meant that originally, we were going to spend most of the day at DL and I figured I could go to DCA early and get these. Since we'll be at GCV, I guess we can all go into DCA and I can run to the FP machine get the passes. Then we can either stay in DCA for a bit, or hop over to DL... Truth be told, we only have two days at DL in total. And there's so much to see just at DL! We're not sure how much time we'll actually spend at DCA... especially with there being so much construction going on. What i DO know is we want to see WOC.

With DL opening up earlier than DCA, especially with early entry as a GCV guest, you will likely get a better use out of your limited time if you start at DL. Then you can hop over to DCA to get the fastpasses and leave your family in DL.

Or, you can do what we do, we pre-buy the picnics with the Fastpass. It is worth it to us not to have to worry about hopping when we have limited time in the parks. And I am fairly addicted to the European, especially now that I have paired it with a glass of Pinot Grigio! -- Suzanne

Good idea. Here is some more info on this: :)

The mob rush for WOC fastpasses is long gone. You can get them throughout the day, don't fret about it. Maybe in the summer when tourism picks up it will go back to lines, but as it stands, even on a busy day in the winter, Fastpasses are available well into the evening.

that is a good idea.. but DCA has alot to offer also, tons to see like animation buidling where the turtle talk with crush is shown, the muppets 3d, and the aladdin show... plus California screamin, TSMM and soarin are rides you probably don't want to miss....:cheer2:
