We are splurging and booking the WOC dessert party on a Saturday in July ~~ which show choice would be better? 1st or 2nd showing?
Are there any pros or cons to either or does it really matter?

I'm wondering the same. Couldn't get a first show, but booked the second. I'm just hoping to avoid spoilers during the first show as we wait for the second!

I’ve only done the dessert party (in the before times) for the 2nd show because we like to close out the day with it and just leave after. I honestly can’t remember if we saw the end of the first show while checking in for the second. I don’t recall it being an issue but it was a while ago.

We're going to try for the second show also. We will be checking in and getting our bands around 8;30 so the show will be going while we wait. Our plan is to just talk with each other while we wait and not look at the show at all. Then we're just going to shop until it ends. Even if you hear the music there will be no spoilers for how beautiful it's going to be.

Dessert party lines have been waiting near Grizzly River Run (path around the back of the attraction), so there should be minimal spoilers. The second party will likely not sell out, so guests tend to get better seating.

With second show can do the checkin 60 minutes before that show or check in 60 minutes prior to the first show. (At Eureka water wheel). At checkin they assign table spot and will give wristband and instructions where and when to report for the second show.

Thanks for the tips. I think the plan is to get in line around 7:45p to get our wristbands and seat assignments then head to Avengers Campus or Carsland to kill time until 9:30 and then head back to the show.

I'm all in favor of the second show for anything Disney Parks related. Let them work the bugs out of the first show, and then have the primed, pumped and ready to roll for that second show. :)

Did anyone get a WOC DP reservation for Sunday, September 4th? I think it didn't drop yet as Saturday the 3rd is still available, but the 4th says no times available.

We did the second show the very first night of the return in April and it was a mess, glad they moved check in to Grizzly Peak path. We are looking for the second show on Sept 4th and know the process will be far better.

It's interesting that the 4th is still not showing, but the 5th is. Makes me think that there won't be a show on the 4th for some reason.

Hi Cal-Pie, I tend to agree or maybe they sold out that quickly. It would seem odd that Sunday would sell out with Saturday still open for both shows. I'll keep watching. Could be a private event or they simply forgot to load it into the system :) I could swap my plan and do the Saturday WOC DP and F! on Sunday if we want to do both.

I've planned the entire trip, but still haven't told/asked my wife if we are going. We went in Feb and April and had not planned a return until December.

I bring good news, the trip is approved (wife and 14 yo son)...:) but we are going to forgo the WOC DP and have a relaxing dinner at Napa Rose on the 4th. We will do the DP in December when the Holiday version is running! We've done the DP over a dozen times, so missing it this trip is no big deal. Maybe the lack of availability on the 4th was a sign....

how do you know if the reservation is for 1st or 2nd show? my reservation says nothing but the time (8:00 pm) nothing about first or second show.

If we need to see both WOC and Fantasmic! with a Dessert Party and Hungry Bear dining package should we go to the first WOC showing or the second?

I need more opinions! I can't decide if I want 1st or 2nd show, and I have to reserve in a couple days. I want to minimize the time waiting in line, and I don't want to spend tons of time inside the area before the show starts. Of course we want to leave enough time to be served, but it will just be my daughter and I, so I'm sure we'll be seated with another party. If we were with the rest of the family, I'm sure I'd do 1st, but DD isn't really chatty with people she doesn't know, so I don't want to be at the table forever. Help?

I'd like to know too, so hopefully this will bump it up to where people see it again.

I would definately say second show. You get the full park day and then the show. The second show actually occurs after 10pm. Also you check in for the show at 9:00pm for the "9:15pm" near Grizzly River Rapids and get your wristband (this is also where you request a highboy for best view) and they imply you need to come back at 9:45pm to be escorted to the viewing area. The truth is you show up at the viewing area at 9:50 you table is already reserved they seat you and bring out food/drinks very fast. This leaves you another hour to ride rides and shop. We did a lightening lane of Webslingers. If you want another drink order it right away because they break it down as soon as everyone is served. The late show ends around 10:45pm. I'm a fast walker and we made it back to ride Rise with another lightening lane and all of Fantasyland dark rides before Disneyland closed.

So, everybody is worried about checking in for the second show. How early and when do you need to get in line for the first show if you want a great table? We are going to try and hit first show, then head to cars land at night and get in line right before the closing.
