Disneyland Today's Twitter feed says Sept 5th will be the final performance of WOC Celebrate! and that the original show will return Sept 6th. Rumors have been floating around for a while here on the boards but Disney Parks Blog hasn't made an announcement yet. (Disneyland Today is the parks official Twitter handle so that's good enough for me!)

I'm happy for this. I've watched the NPH one online, and while I'm sure its very enjoyable to watch in person, I'm happy that we'll be able to see the original one again in person. Now...someone hold me back from ordering the WOC Dessert Party that I can't really afford but really want to do...

I've only ever seen 2 holiday versions and the anniversary version. I didn't think the anniversary version was even as good as the prior holiday ones. I really wish I could get there with the original showing sometime.

Maybe I missed it, but I do not see the Dessert Party available after Sept 5.

Edited to say: if looking from the dining reservations page, it shows no availability, but if going from the Dessert Party page it does offer options.

I liked elements of Celebrate, but overall, wasn't a huge fan of NPH. I felt like there was a little too much of him and not enough of DLR, but on the other hand, I did like that Celebrate featured Disneyland, which was missing from the other 60th Anniversary shows. So, I'll be sad to see that element go away, but I do think the previous/original version of WoC was a stronger overall show.

Maybe I missed it, but I do not see the Dessert Party available after Sept 5.
They've released booking dates through the September 30th (except, September 15) on Disneyland.com.

You and me both Daisybelle! My finger has hovered over the purchase tickets button many times!

We saw WOC Celebrate last year in October. We will be at DLR from September 11-15 and did not plan to see it again. We may reconsider since it will be the original. How are they different? Are they different enough that we should add this to our list of must-see things?

WoC: Celebrate and WoC (original) are very different shows. The basic elements (mist screens, colored water cannons, etc.) are the same, but how they are used, which show clips are included, the music, etc. are different. I would go to YouTube and look up both to see if you think the original show is something you'd like to see.

The Parks Blog has confirmed the original WoC and Fantasy in the Sky are returning this fall (no mention of Paint the Night or Pixar Play Parade).
Welcome Back Favorite Entertainment Spectaculars at Disneyland Resort This Fall

Looks like Paint the Night is officially done.

They responded to a comment with this:
“Paint the Night” was created for the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration and is scheduled to conclude its run with the close of the celebration on September 5.

Granted they can always change their minds and bring it back later.

Any tips for watching WOC and how the fast passes work for the show? We haven't been to Disneyland/DCA since they started issuing Fast Passes for WOC or Fantasmic. In the "old days" you either scoped out a spot hours before or tried to get into the 2nd showing, if there was one. I remember always having trouble seeing the DCA show because of taller ppl in front of me. :(
