WLV Studio question & Fort Wilderness

DD and Family arriving at VWL before noon on 10/11. Under the "room ready" policy , if given a choice, what would be the preferred view? They have never stayed at VWL. The only request they made was NS. They have their points at BCV.
Also they are doing the 9:30 PM show HoopDe Doo that night Since it will be late can they ride the boat over and ride it back, or should they take their rental car?
Is there anything to do at FW while waiting for the show ?

Can't answer the FW/HDR questions, but I'll share my opinion on the studio question.
We got a dedicated studio at VWL on one trip. It was on the first floor, to the left of the elevators. It was really nice. It had some extra room since it was not connected to another room. We're not big "view" people, but this room looked out at the walkway to the lodge. I sat out there on a couple of occasions. Not bad. Loved listening to the folks going and coming from the bus and having a good time!
I like getting into my room when I arrive, so I wouldn't be too particular about the view, but that's just us.

Yes, your guests can ride the boat from WL to FW. Not a problem at all...... As for waiting for the show, you can walk up to the Meadows area @ FW and enjoy the free Chip and Dale Sing-a-Long, which then becomes the Campfire and sit in Movie. It is a lot of fun. That program usually starts around 7:30PM.

You can certainly ride the boat over to HDD, but since you are doing the late show, boat service may have stopped before the show is over. But they will have buses to take you back to VWL. That's the way it was last time I did HDD.

I believe the boats run until 1 hour after the parks close. Infact, I am very sure of that........

The Magic Kingdom closes at 6pm that night.

OK, then you can make use of the buses. There is a bus stop about 30 yards from HDD, neat the petting zoo.

The MK boat runs until 1 hour after park close, but the WL/FW/Contemporary boat will run later. I think until 10 pm. So even if the MK/WL/FW boat stops at 7 pm, you could still boat to FW on the other boat. But you would have to bus back. They will have buses waiting for you when the show is over.

Edited to add: driving over is probably not a good idea. There is no parking at HDD. You would have to park at a lot near the FW entrance, then hop a bus to HDD. Then bus back to the car. If you did that, you might as well bus from VWL. Also, there is a path from VWL to FW/HDD. Takes maybe 15 - 20 minutes. This would only be a valid option if it was still light out when you went over. Not an option for return when it's dark. (Path is not lighted).
