Have not been here in awhile, but it is that time once again to start planning our trip for April. We wanted to try a Villa this time and a new resort, so we picked WLV. I was wondering if there is a certain room to request, and was looking for any helpful info about the Wilderness Lodge in general. I would love any and all info anyone has about this resort and the villas. TIA! :goodvibes

I believe you could get quite a bit of information by checking out www.allearsnet.com. They have detailed descriptions of each resort as well as pictures of the resorts, rooms, food courts, etc. They also have detailed menus. Hope this helps, Lisa

VWL is the smallest DVC resort. Most rooms have a woods view. A very few have a glimpse of the lake through the trees. There are only two elevators located in the center of the building. You can always request close to the elevator if that is important.

VWL is a very nice resort. You have access to all the amenities of WL, but you're in a quieter setting. The themeing is great. There is one studio that doesn't have a balcony (the room number escapes me at the moment, but I think it's on the 4th floor), but otherwise most of the balconies either look at woods or look at WL/quiet pool area. You are very close to the bus stop for WL (in fact, closer than if you stayed in WL, in my opinion) but it's a little walk around to the boat dock. You are also very close to the gift shop.

We're also considering WLV and I happened to stumble upon this thread. Thanks to those of you that provided the extra info the resort!

Others have given information about requesting to be near the elevators if that is what you would like.

I do not recommend requesting a specific room because of the way Disney works requests. If they can't put you in that room, they'll put you wherever there is a room open. You are more likely to get your request if you make it less specific.

I have been in the one studio villa that does not have a balcony. I don't remember the number of that room either but I think 4th floor is correct.
