WL vs AKL

Why would you pick WL over AKL? (We have stayed at AKL twice and DH thought it was weird for me to consider WL)

If we chose WL over AKL, it would be because the MK area is our favorite. We have stayed at both resorts and love both for different reasons. AKL is out away from everything, so it's nice and quiet (IMO). Both have beautiful surroundings, great CS and TS options, great pools, and beautiful lobbies. With that said, WL is conveniently located close to MK, as well as being convenient to a variety of dining options at the monorail resorts. I would definitely give WL a try as it truly is a great resort with a lot to offer and it's great having alternate transportation to MK via boat.

I personally think AKL is nicer and more interesting, but it's up to your family, obviously.

I like WL for the location. Because I am a big MK fan and AK is second in my list. I think you need to determine which park is your favorite and go from there.

The WL is our favorite resort for several reasons. We love the location on Bay Lake and the beautiful setting of the courtyard area and pool. The boat to MK is wonderful and the boat to CR is nice as well (for monorail access). The lobby is breathtaking and it just seems like home to my family.

It's just an amazing resort with a great location.

My favorite two resorts. WL just has its own ambience. The lobby is stunning. Since you've stayed at AKL, why not try WL?

We personally gave no use for AKL, didn't like the decor, food offerings, Savannah... Just about everything there... Especially location....

WL, we've stay there over 10 trips.... Absolutely no cons to the resorts .... prime for us is its location... Right in the mix of things and the monorail loop resorts have always been great for dining, lounging and shopping...!

We stayed at AKL , it was very pretty and relaxing. But as others have said its a ride to all of the other parks. We have not stayed at WL but would insider it because of the location to MK. If that is where you spend most of your time them I would lean towards WL.

I have stayed at WL, and only visited AKL. They are both gorgeous resorts but I give the edge to WL for its location in the MK area....my favorite.

We have visited both resorts, but have only stayed at WL and we fell in love with it. While we did tour AKL, and it was beautiful and amazing with the animals, we found it was just too far away from everything for us and our kids.

WL is close to more transportation options (boat to MK, TC, buses,...) where at AKL you are limited to the bus system only. You can see Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach of WL. And to us, being closer to things means faster easier, dining options, the ability to take a break in the middle of the day more time in the parks than traveling between the two...

We just love the decor, pool and overall lay out of WL, but I did thoroughly enjoy our visit to AKL.

We have stayed at both. I like WL just a little better for the boat to the MK. I also prefer the theming of WL, even though AKL is more interesting (if that makes sense).

Another vote for WL, having stayed at both prefer the location of WL and its just a boat ride away from the CR resort and monorail to GF and Poly. Love the lobby and the pool area and beach as well. Enjoy whatever you choose!

I like WL better, but my wife and daughter like AKL better. Though we love them both and no one complains when we stay at either one. I second the thought to try out WL since you have already been to AKL.

I'm staying WL in December because I've already stayed twice at AKL. I think it's fun to try something new. I like the idea of trying out the boat to the MK. I also like the thought of exploring Ft. Wilderness.
