I just had a few questions about the WL villas. If I was to stay in one reserved with CRO rather than with a DVC member, do you get housekeeping services? Also, do you check in at the Villas or in the Lodge? We love the WL and are definitely staying there in November but now I was considering the Villas just to have use of the kitchen, etc and to try something different. Any other plusses in staying in the Villas? Any info that anyone could share would be great!!

Thanks,
Kim

You will the the villa's at the WL! It's nice having a kitchen, for breakfast, snacks, and beverages. I don't cook huge meals but we usually have breakfast in the villa. Bring snacks and freeze bottled water and juices and take into the park. Usually, when we come back for an afternoon swim, we make a sandwich or cheese and fruit. Having the extra square footage is a plus, too. You aren't on top of eachother --- like a hotel room.

You have a washer/dryer in your unit --- so you don't have to pack as much and you can do the laundry your last day -- and come home with no laundry to do!!

If you book ressies from the CRO, you will get daily housekeeping. They will even provide you with extra towels. laundry soap if you request.

If you rent points you can get daily housekeeping but you pay extra for it. They do delivery fresh towels and empty trash one day during your stay.

Check-in for the villa's is separate they have there own entrance and lobby.

I am a DVC member whose home resort is VWL and the check in has always been at the front desk of the WL. There is a seperate lobby and entrance for the villas , however there are no staff working there other than the DVC sales person.
You will love the villas with the extra room and the ability to do laundry!

You'll love the Wilderness villas. Here's part of my trip report from when we stayed May of '03. We had 8 total in a two bedroom. My parents, Brother1 and Sister-In-Law (SIL) and there two boys (DN1 and DN2), also Brother2 and me! (I answer more of your questions below the trip report)

The villa was amazing! Basically, it was a two bed, two bath apartment. You enter in the main room, which has a small kitchen and the living area with a sleeper sofa, dinning table and breakfast bar, entertainment center, and a small balcony. There was also a stackable washer/dryer in a closet off the main room, very handy to do a bit of laundry when the kids made a mess. The master suite had a king size bed, TV, it’s own balcony, and a whirlpool tub with a dressing area complete with a sink and vanity. It also had two small closets, one of which had a full size iron and board. The master bathroom, which also served as the main bath, had a huge shower stall, sink and vanity, and a separate toilet with a door, so someone could use that while another person used the sink. This arrangement allowed up to three people to use the bathroom while maintaining privacy. The second bedroom had two double beds, a TV, a huge walk in closet, and a full bathroom. Brother1, SIL and the kids took this room. They set up the crib (Disney provided it) in the walk in closet to give DN2 his own little bedroom (it was that big!) so he and DN1 wouldn’t disturb each other as they sometimes had different nap schedules. Our parents took the master suite, with Brother2 and I sharing the living room. He took the couch and I had brought an inflatable mattress along, I had plenty of space on the floor and just asked for a few extra blankets and pillows from house keeping.

You do get maid service daily if you don't book as a DVC member (always tip your mousekeeper, they work hard so you don't have to!). And you check in at the hotel's front desk, but the villas are in a separate building (short walk) and if you need help with your bags, the bell hops can help!

You will LOVE the atmosphere of this resort, it's so quiet and peacefull! You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but only a short boat ride to Mk and buses to the other parks! The villa's has it's own quiet pool w/hot tub, or it's a short walk to the main hotel pool with the water slide, kiddie pool and additional hot tubs.

The gift shop in the WL (main hotel) has light groceries in the back. Prices are inflated, but you still save over eating all meals in the parks.
