Do both resorts have the same check-in area? Do they ever "upgrade" someone who has a ressie at WL to a villa? Can you ask to upgrade to a villa from a standard WL room if you're willing to pay for the upgrade? Does the VWL have any three bedroom units? Just wondering...........

Thanks!

Yes, both the WL and the VWL have the same check-in area;)

They do on occassion give upgrades at check-in but generally, it's only to a nicer view ie. Standard view to courtyard view (although, it isn't totally unheard of to get an even better upgrade -- but not likely). You generally can upgrade to a villa though at check-in IF they have availiblity and you are willing to pay for it. VWL are one of the smallest of the DVC resorts though so they may not have availibility if it's a busy time of year.

The VWL have studio's that hold 4 people, 1 bdrm villas that also hold 4 people or 2 bdrm villas that hold 8 people. Only OKW and BWV's have the 3 bdrm grand villa's which hold 12 people.

Yep, VWL is the smallest of all the DVC Resorts. The Member Guidebook lists there being 136 villas.

Since the resorts have the same check-in area, you could always ask if it would be possible to do a paid upgrade to a villa. If they aren't booked, they'd probably be more than happy to do it. There aren't any 3BR units (if there were, cash prices would be $1200+ per night like they are at BWV).

We're staying at VWL for the first time next year, and I can't wait to try it. We loved the lodge when we stayed there years ago. Have fun!
