We have dinner reservations at Ohana's (staying at WL). Outside of driving to Ohana's from WL (which we "may" do depending upon what our party wants to do after dinner) which below would be the fastest way to get to Ohana's? I am not sure the time intervals the boats run.

Take Boat from WL -> Contemporary
Monorail from Contemporary -> Poly

Take Boat from WL -> MK
Monorail from MK -> Poly

Take Boat from WL -> MK
Boat from MK -> Poly

I think boat to MK then boat to Poly would be fastest.

Boat to the Contemporary, then to monorail means a walk from the CR boat dock up to the monorail (it's not close at all...walk includes stairs, escalators or waiting for elevator if you have a stroller) and then a monorail stop at the TTC before the Poly. The monorail will drop you at the Poly on the same floor right by Ohana, but the walk through the CR is much longer than the walk from the Poly boat dock to Ohana.

Boat to MK then monorail means a shorter walk from boat dock to monorail, but now has two monorail stops before you get to the Poly...one at the Contemporary, one at the TTC, then Poly. More possibility for monorail delays.

The boats are usually more reliable than the monorail with less delays. Waiting for the resort launch to the Poly would be the only wild card in this, but shouldn't be too bad. I would rather wait by the dock than sit in a monorail. In fact, the resort launch is such a pleasant way to travel, and arriving at the Poly at the dock on the beach, walking past the palm trees, the tiki torches, the volcano pool, the waterfall...listening to the music....much more magical than arriving on the second floor to the chaos in there! The resort launch does stop at the GF first, but the stop is quick.

Outside of driving, this is fastest. It might seem counter-intuitive that the boat would be faster than the monorail, but the boat only stops at GF before getting to the Poly. The monorail, even when running reliably and if it's even open, has to stop at CR and TTC (both slow stops on the loop) before getting to the Poly.

There is a bus from WL to MK, but in my experience that hasn't saved us time in the past versus waiting on the boats, which seem to be more frequent than the MK bus.

Thank you chamonix and grimley1968!!!

Sounds like it will be Boat to MK from WL and then Boat from MK to Poly. I never actually thought about arriving at the beach and the nice walk in vs. taking the monorail.

We intended to do that, but when we arrived at MK on the boat from WL, the boat to the Poly had just left and we didn't want to wait, so we took the monorail. So I guess I'd say it depends on your timing. Monorails run more frequently than the boats and are more likely to fill up.

Definitely don't take the boat from WL to CR- it stops at Fort Wilderness on the way (out of the way).
