We have decided to stay at the WL- Courtyard View. I requested inner courtyard. Is there any rooms that are better if you would like to be close to the pool. I have two small children to go back and forth with-- or all the inner courtyard rooms about the same distance?

WL has great pool access... IF you scout out the hotel... There are obviously the doors in the lobby that lead out to the pool, on the south side of the hotel there is also an elevator about half way down the hallway that will bring you down to a pool entrance (the north sides main elevator is in the same place, but the rooms actually start there because of the resturants)... also if you go all the way down to the end of the hallways you can use the stairwells to go all they way down to the pool, just make sure you come out on the first floor (don't go all the way to the bottom)... on the South side if you go all the way to the bottom you CAN go out and you will be right at the Quiet pool (but you will not be able to re-enter the building from there.

Like I said just scout out your surroundings and you will find that there are many different options for getting to the pool area... so basically no one room is better than another, there is a way to get to the pool easily from just about everywhere :)

We just got back last Sat. We had a courtyard room with bunk beds. It was room 2121. Our room was inner cortyard and it was not far from the pool and very close to the lobby. I feel that it was one of the best rooms. It was a 2 minute walk from the pool. We had a patio which was nice and we never had to take an elevator because we were on the same floor as the lobby. Our view was of the creek and I wound walk out about 50 ft to my right ad I could watch EWP each night. I had to walk down a set of rock stairs to get to the pool. We were also close to roaring forks which was nice. I absolutely loved the lodge and we felt so comfortable there. The CM's were very nice. The rooms are small and simple but it felt like home to me. There was not a lot of draw space but maybe I overpacked. :teeth: I thought that the room was thoughtfully laid out. I would return in a heartbeat. Happy planning! If you have any questions I would be happy to help you or the great WL Vets on the WL thread are extremely helpful.

Tara and I seem to be following each other around the posts!! :cheer2:

We are also just back. My kids are 7 and 8, we had inner courtroom view room 1161. We were on the ground level, 3 doors down from the exit at the end of the building. We could open the sliding doors, step off the patio into the grass and literally be at the pool in 10 steps, close to the towels. Turn right and 20 steps to the beach to watch the EWP. We loved this room!!! It was a bit of a walk to the elevator to go to the lobby, roaring forks and the laundry... but we usually just walked along the outside path and up through the "cave" to reach the lobby. Not bad at all. Of course, the views may be better higher up, but with kids who wanted to swim, play in the sand, etc. etc.....this room location was great!!!! Feel free to ask more questions!!

The ground level room sounds great!!! With a 4 year old and a six month old- that would be just perfect!! Could you see the electric light parade from the patio??

no, the view would be blocked from the patio next door. However, if you stepped off the patio onto the grass and literally went 5-10 steps forward and looked to the right, you can see the beach and the parade. I would just walk a few steps toward the beach and there was a sitting area with chairs. :flower:

Did you make a certain request for this room?
Should I just ask when I arrive?

Nope, actually had a woods view booked and received unrequested upgrade to courtyard view. I would call CRO and request (remember just a request) a ground floor room and specific room # if you want to..Never hurts to try.

Thanks for the help! We are leaving in 11 days and I cannot wait!!!!

We had room 6039, inner courtyard, right around from an elevator that deposited yo uright next to Roaring Forks and the door to the pool
