Good morning!!!!!!

My family and mom and dad are looking into staying at the Wilderness Lodge in December of 2009. I was just wondering, what is everyone's experience with the bus system here. How frequently do the buses come, and are they very crowded? Also, has anyone stayed in a room with the two bunk beds, and if so, did you like them? Do these rooms connect to a regular guest room?

Any and all help that you can give is appreciated!!!

thanks a bunch!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We stayed there for 6 days in Dec 06 and the buses were fantastic except for the one morning where we had 8 am ressies at Donalds in AK.

We were at the bus stop at 7 am and the bus did not get there until 7:40 and had to go to Ft Wilderness and pick up more people. I told the bus driver that we would be late for our ADR and how long would it take to get there and he said I should have been at the bus stop earlier. DH replied "I didnt know that we needed to sleep at the bus stop to get to breakfast"

We arrived at AK gate at 8:10 and to Donalds at 8:20 and the CM said no prob with us being late, she said it happens all the time and sat us within 5 minutes.

Can't help you with the room questions but we've never had a problem with the resort buses. Average wait for us (we generally go in August or November) has been 20-25 minutes. The buses to the water parks seemed to take the longest.

We stayed at WL in September (and will be staying there again in April/May) We never had more than a 15 minute wait for the buses. It was great! The buses were never overly crowded, meaning no one had to stand, on a couple of occassions, it was only us and the bus driver. I imagine that doesn't happen too often though.

We stayed in a bunkbed room in May. The kids just loved the bunkbeds ansd took turns with who was on top! The room had a door that was obviously a connecting door to room next door-but I do not know what type of room that was. I would guess is was a regular room.

We never had any issues with the buses. There is a boat to the Magic Kingdom and I think it may have been DS favorite part of the trip! We even once took the Monorail (asked to sit with the pilot-very cool) from Epcot to the Contemporary and then the boat back to WL. I am sure it took longer than the bus, but again the monorail and boat were such fun for the kids!

The resort is beautiful and the pool was loads of fun!

We've stayed at the Lodge quite a few times and just recently returned from 9 nights this past week. This trip the buses were the best, never a wait of more than 10 minutes. Seems like we would just miss the bus and another was just pulling in. Even on some of our other stays, the buses were never as bad as I have read here. Average wait 20 minutes, just seems longer when you're rarin to go.
