A friend who is going with her 2 kids and her parents is asking me for advice but Im not sure what to tell her. If you have 2 adults who like having a King room and are really opposed to a 2 queen room. Then the other room in your party has 1 adult and 2 children. The King room wants a courtyard view. The adult/children room doesn't want to pay extra for a pool view. They would like to be across the hall or pretty close so the kids can visit their grandparents' room. Any suggestions on what categories to book and what to request? Is there a way to get a King courtyard room that is real close to a double queen standard or woods view room? How should they book and phrase their requests to have the best chance of getting what they want?

I would book the king courtyard and the 2 Queen woods separately and then call to connect the 2 reservations. At that time she can explain what they want. There is no way to make certain they will get what they request but they can try.

On our last trip we had 3 rooms and wanted an adjoining room and the 3rd room next door. We were all put in separate buildings. At check in we realized what was going on and they did their best to get us together. They also told us that there was no record of me connecting the reservations nor was there any record of my requests, even though I had called twice.

So my advice is to call once to put things on the reservation and once after on-line check in to double check and then be prepared at check in to have things re-arranged if possible.

We were there last month with my daughter's family. They booked a standard view and we had booked a woods view. We had connected the reservations and they had given us a gathering number. It was on the reservation. We wanted our rooms close but not connected. We had requested fifth floor or higher.

They checked in one day before us and got upgraded to a sixth floor woods view room, with a perfect view of the castle. We got a room four doors down. They spent a lot of time looking for a nearby room when we checked in. It worked out great.

WL is a fairly small building by Disney standards. Even if you're not "together", it won't be that long of a walk between rooms.
