So after I got help from a wonderful person on here yesterday to get the great rate of $140/nt at the WL for our upcoming September trip, now am I wondering if I booked the right resort or not. It will be me, DH and DS who will almost be 2. We will spend 3 days in the parks and have at least 1 day to lounge at the resort. Is there much for a 2 yr old to do at WL? Or should we just go MOD this time and save a little $$ by staying at the CBR?

So confusing! I would love to stay at the WL since it is such a great rate, but this trip is totally for our son. We were just there in Dec 06 with family so we got to do our own things.

Where would you stay with a 2 year old?:confused3

Thanks for any help!

Hi!
My daughter's first trip to Disney was when she was 2 1/2 and we stayed at WL. She loved it. The boat to Magic Kingdom was wonderful. This is where we spent most of our time. There was a small bridge over water that went through the lobby. She loved the geyser. We also took the boat over to Fort Wilderness to look at the animals. You could also go to the Cub's Den with him in the afternoon to do crafts. You stay with him but there were toys and stuff to do. You have a great rate for the WL enjoy it!!
We stayed at CBR when she was 4 and I don't remember anything that stood at as more to do but it was also freezing that trip and we weren't exploring the resort that much. We really loved WL and are taking our 3 year old there next month. Have a great time.

OMG.....WL for 140 a night....
Don't second guess that for 1 second......

WL is just awesome at any age.....
Tons to keep them busy at the lodge.....
Cubs Den has free arts and crafts every afternoon....

the boat to MK is awesome...
Pool is fun.....geyser...
You can spend hours in the lobby.....
every floor has numerous nooks and crannies neat things
everywhere...
When you go.....you will know;) :goodvibes
Enjoy
Kerri

Definitely WL! We stayed there with our 3.5 yr old DD and there was plenty for her to do. Nice thing too is everything is under one roof and not all spread out like CBR.

The pool, wildlife, beach, theming, and boat ride to MK are all things the little ones seem to enjoy.

WL is great for that age! My son was a few months shy of 3 years when we stayed at WL for the first time last November. DD7 and I had been before and stayed in Moderates. He loved the lodge and amazingly enough still talks about it. He loved the stream and bridge in the lobby and spent lots of time watching in and walking (well trying to run but not allowed) over that bridge. He loved the boat ride to Magic Kingdom. He loved the table of lincoln logs set up outside the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

That said, I had a chance to go again for a conference with work last month and we were at CSR and he also loved that! Loved the pool. They have the greatest playground. Much better then WL. They have sand and swings and nice jungle gyms. They had crafts for the kids at the pool. He loved sitting outside on the Esplanade and enjoying the lake and eating ice-cream while watching the tiny alligator swimming. He loved the Hammocks outside the Cabanas section where we stayed.

From a parent's perspective I'd say WL is easier to get around with a little one. Everything under one roof like restaurants and gift shops. I missed that last trip to CSR. It rained 2 nights and we wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant and had to hike around the lake to eat. A drawback to getting around at WL, I thought was bus service. We always seemed to stop at GF first and took forever to get some place. CSR did not share buses and the buses came quicker.

Either way, your son will love it - WL or Mod. Although for $140 I'd be at WL.

I vote WL! It's closer to the MK, which you can go to by boat. What toddler wouldn't love that??:)

Honestly, I don't think your 2-year old will care one way or another. Give him a pool and he'll be happy. At 2-years old my DD loved swinging on the hammocks and playing in the sand at CBR. At 3-years old she loved the stream that goes through the lobby at the WL and the geyser.

How much more is the WL? Where will you stay in December?
