We are planning on going to WDW Aug 24-29 and having never been - I am SOOOOO confused over where we should stay! I have only been to DL and it's so different.

Which would be better? The BC is more expensive - but is it worth it? How is the transportation for each? I've heard good things about both resorts, but never having actually seen them, it's hard for me to plan. How hard is it to really navigate around to go to different resort restaurants, parks, etc.?

Thanks for your help!!

Congrats on going to WDW!! You are gonna love it!! Well, we loooooove the BC!! I have never stayed at the WL, but once when we were on the boat we traveled over there to pick up guests going to MK. We just don't have the feeling for WL--SORRY to all you WL lovers-don't hate me!! We do the dining plan and most nights we experience a different country for dinner with our kids. Great world travel!!Any way, we love being able to walk over there and not have to wait for a bus or anything like that. Now, if we are at MK we do have to use the buses, but it's okay-and we usually leave right before it gets crazy(to go to Epcot and eat). Also, you can walk or take a boat to HS and that's great, too.
We love the hotel, rooms are great, laundry area is wonderful, quiet pool and SAB are wonderful and you gotta go to Beaches & Cream for dessert. Actually, their chicken soup is pretty good too:thumbsup2
If they could figure out a way to put a walk way all the way to MK we would just be in hog heaven! If you aren't gonna stay in a MK resort, this is the place to be.Just make sure you ask the CM making your ressies about the room view if this is important to you. We hated the view of the roof:sad2: The buses are pretty quick-the only one we waited on was for the Animal Kingdom--about 20 minutes, everything else was pretty quick. But, even if you go to WL, you'll love it because you are at WDW!!!

I stayed at WL a few years ago and liked the resort. I stayed at BC last year and loved it. I too love the walk to Epcot it is so easy to enter and exit and never have to fight the crowds if you stay until closing or after Illuminations. It is a nice walk around the lake and over to the Boardwalk for the evening entertainment, to ride surrey bikes and there are so many dining options you can walk to. Don't get me wrong WL is very nicce as well but I really didn't enjoy the boat every time we wanted to go to MK, seems like we waited awhile some times. Both resorts are very nice, we just prefer the BC.

I have the same thoughts as the above posters. We really like WL a lot -- it's gorgeous and we love the "lodgy" feeling we get while staying there. And if you frequent MK, then the boat is a nice option if you have a stroller that you'd rather not unload and fold for buses (like we do!).

Having said all that, we LOVE BC. It's our favorite resort. It's hard for us to stay anywhere else. It opens up so many more opportunities that you don't get at other resorts, such as being able to walk to Epcot every night for a nice meal, watch Illuminations, then just easily walk back to BC afterward, have some ice cream at Beaches & Cream, walk around the boardwalk area, etc. There is SO much to do. You can also walk or boat to HS, another great perk for those of us with strollers. Oh, and there is a character breakfast at BC if that interests you.

Another vote for the BC. We visited the WL one night to eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe and see the resort and the Electrical Water Pageant, but it cannot compare with the BC and Stormalong Bay.

WL is very convenient for touring the MK. BC/YC is conveniently located next to 2 parks, Epcot and DHS. Also, Stormalong Bay is a really really fun pool (if that makes a difference to you).

Since MK is most like Disneyland, (and we go there more often than WDW), we like to stay at the Epcot resort area for most of our time in WDW. It has a different feeling, a really pretty view of the Boardwalk, and tons of dining choices within walking distance.

Visiting the World Showcase at Epcot in the evenings is great since there is no sun, lots of shopping and dining, a few rides and movies, and Illuminations. The BC is a short walk back from this area at night, when no crowds and no wait is really nice.

Have a magical trip!:wizard:

My family has stayed at both WL & BC and we loved the BC! It is all about location, location & location! You are slow close to everything, the boardwalk, Epcot and the studios.

You really can't go wrong with either.

It is summertime and when it comes to pools, SAB at the BC cant be beat.

When it comes to wow factor, though I think WL has the edge, even if you're more of a beachey girl than a lincoln log girl.

I would go with the BC also.
Just being able to walk to Epcot and The Studios is such a bonus.

We've stayed at both and they are both great resorts. I guess it depends on what theme you're looking for and what park(s) you will frequent more :confused3. The WL is more of a log cabin, outdoor theme while the BC is, well, a beach theme :lmao:. They are two totally different resorts when it comes to theming, but they are both very beautiful :goodvibes. If you think you will be going to Epcot alot, I'd say go with the BC since you can't beat being able to walk there ;). But if MK is a big draw, you might be better off with the WL and the boat to MK :). But you really can't go wrong with either resort as they are both wonderful, IMO :thumbsup2. Good luck and have a great trip :yay:

Why not consider a split stay??? We are doing a split stay WL/BC in Aug more for practical reasons. There are 6 of us in 2 rooms for the first four days at WL, and 5 in one room the last three at BC. The good part is that we get to experience two great resorts with very different theming, and WL is cheaper so you would save for a portion if your trip. You could do MK from WL and Epcot and DHS from BC.

Good luck deciding (or not deciding like us!!):)
