I finally booked my 7 for 4 deal in May and WL is not available. We booked POFQ instead... I am bummed...

Keep trying, it might be available at some point. i am going though the same thing with BWI for concierge. I am just going to sit tight and wait. If I don't get it I will be sad but not upset, I am going to Disney World in November, what more can I ask for.

Hi, what's the 7 for 4 deal? I made ressies for May 24-28 for WL woods view and yesterday morning, I called back to apply the codes. And it saved us apprx. $512.

But keep calling, maybe a different CM would be able to find the availability you need for WL. Don't give up!!!

May 22nd-29th...

The Disney triathlon is being run near the end of May. The athletes are staying at the WL so for that one weekend it will be pretty full with bikes and running shoes. My brother is entered and staying there. They got a "special" rate through the program of $219 - which doesn't sound too special.

That is going to be a busy week for WL.

The Florida 1/2 Ironman is on May 23 and a lot of athletes are staying at WL. We are arriving 2 days before and staying for 2 days after.

Later that week is also WL's 10th Anniversary. Maybe some people are staying there who stayed there when it first opened.

You also have Florida schools that are out and Memorial Day.

I would keep trying. You never know when something may open up.

I believe its Star Wars weekends at MGM also. And a Flower Show at Epcot? We're going to be at WL from 5/24 - 5/28, does this mean crowds will be...full?

The answer to your question is YES. My DH will be one of those cute guys running around in his tight shorts. (oh, and shaved legs, too)

Seriously, it's amazing how fit triathletes are. I'm in awe at every race we go to.

There's women in the race, too. I always get a little jealous when I see all these fit women running around. I guess I better start exercising a little more!

The atmosphere at WL should be great that weekend. I always love to see all the athletes, their bikes, etc. It's fun watching them prepare for a triathlon. A lot of athletes bring their families and I get to have some nice conversations with them.

I did my own triathlon at the WL last week. I swam in the pool, rode a Surrey bike, and ran to the dock to catch the boat!

The triathlon is at FW. The swim is in Bay Lake and the bike and run courses are on roads on the outskirts of Disney.

They are always fun to watch. The swim is first and very early in the morning.

We usually have to go to DH's triathlons with him and then stay because we are too far away from our hotel. By staying at WL, we can take the boat or walk back from FW and rest in our room while he's out on the course.

I'll second floridafam's response...yes, there are fit men running around...that's why I took up this sport! heehee!
But I'll be racing, too...won't be the fittest woman out there, but I have fun!

FF...I will write later and let you know about the course... I got all lost and couldn't figure out the run course very well, plus couldn't run on the golf course anyway. But we drove the bike course this morning.

wtg2000...do you want me to post race info on here for you to send to your brother? And no, $219 is not a special rate. Thank goodness for my AP (and the Disney visa which was not a bad rate, though the AP rate was just a little less expensive). I think I'm in woods view at WL for about $140/night including tax. Something like that...it was hard to hear the CM in CRO, as I was sitting in France in Epcot when I made the call yesterday to get the AP rates!

Persitance pays off!
Two days ago, I couldn't even get a room at WL concierge.
Just ten minutes ago, I called and got THAT room with an AP discount!

So, keep on calling!

The funny part when I was on the phone with CRO...she asked if I was in Texas (my mailing/billing address), and I said, "That's where I live, but right now I'm at DisneyWorld!" Then she laughed and said, "Oh, I was just about to ask you a stupid question." And I said, "What?" And she said, "I was about to ask you {per their routine, I assume} when your last trip to DisneyWorld was!" We both got a good laugh out of that!

FF...will write the race preview in the morning. I'm back, by the way...it was a quick trip!

Hey ironz, I'll be out there with you. I definitely won't be one of the slim and super fit triathletes out there, but I'm gonna give it a go.

This will be my first tri and I don't know how everyone fits in their training time. Between work and family obligations, I'm finding it difficult to get in enough training time.

But I figured I couldn't pick a better or "happier" place than to start my triathlon experience.

So are we going to wear something lime green for the race?
