WL not available!

Ironz~Hi Betsy! :wave2: Glad to read you are back safe & sound. I'm looking forward to reading your report on the course. It's something I would be interested in doing in the future...and sounds like SO much fun!

*just a few questions first:

1. Could I use a protective suit/cage for the swim portion? I do not wish to become the "top of the news" feature (Gator attacks female participant in WDW) while in the race!

2. Is there ANY (even slim...) chance I could use the SEGWAY for the bike race portion?

3. Are there nice places to stop, rest and imbibe a cold beverage?

4. Could I bring along my camera-phone to snap some pics of the "fit men running around" (in tight shorts & muscles) while competing? (LOL). My own DH fits this description. :)

5. Like wtg2000...I too train annually while on summer vacation at WDW. Is this (in your opinion) ample training for this race? It involves things such as: "RACING for cover to avoid the sudden summer deluge/lightning," "swimming for my life in *SHARK REEF* in Typhoon Lagoon," and "riding the surrey over the MOUNTAIN-LIKE bridge around Crescent lake in the Epcot resorts area!"

6. Could I possibly use "roller-blades" for the RUN portion?

&. Are there special consolation prizes for the non-winners (despise the term : loser!) ? :teeth:

Glad you enjoyed your quick trip to the MAGIC!

I am cracking up!
And to answer your questions: no, no, yes (if want water or Gatorade!), yes, no, no, yes!

I am not too worried about gators or sharks...just getting to the beach will be fine with me.
Only bike wheels...the rest is all about your arms or legs. :) Which is why the guys look so great!

Unfortunately, we will not actually be running past a bar, like in the marathon...as I ran by La Cantina at the end of the marathon, I shouted out, "frozen, with salt! Be back in a couple of hours!"

All athletes will get: a t-shirt, maybe a finisher's medal or some other similar remembrance, food and drink on the course (yummy bananas, gels, gatorade, water), a lovely (in parts) bike tour of the land north of WDW, tired feet and legs, lots of sweat (self-produced), and a delicious feeling of satisfaction!!

If you're serious about something like this...think about the Danskin series of triathlons...beginner-oriented, and there's one at WDW and you get to run through the MK! :)

Cheers!

Ironz~Thanks, Betsy...for the candid answers! (LOL).

I have done numerous "legs" of races, (teams), and a few other wild adventures. I'll look into the Danskin (have many of these...probably dating back to the old "wrap-around" from the Sat. Night Fever days!) series, especially the MK one! ::yes::

Thanks again, I LOVE the FUN of these threads. :teeth:

Ciao....
