I have read a couple of threads that mention the bathroom having mold. I am very concerned about this. I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness in a hotel room. We have never stayed at WL but have ressies next Month there.
Is this a common problem? I know the hotel is older but shouldn't Disney keep up on this? My house is 10 years old and there is no mold as I keep it clean.
Are there other areas of concern? Is the carpet worn/stained? I am grossed out when carpet is very dirty.

We and other family memebers have been to the WL several times and have not had any problems with mold. And excpet when we put the DND sign on the door, mousekeeping has always kept everything very neat, even our toothpaste  .

Never had a problem with a dirty room at WDW. Mold does grown in humid environments which is exactly what they have in FL and bathrooms. Combine them and you might have a problem. But not at WDW.

like deb&bill said, mold loves humidity. i don't remember having a problem at akl with mold when we stayed there, although every day our sliding balcony door would be covered with water from the humidity outside clashing with the cold temperature inside the room.

We stayed at ASMo last week and there was black mold on inside surface of all shower curtain rings. Forgot to mention it when we left.

We have stayed there twice already, and didn't see no molds and the carpet is clean. The furnitures are in fine condition. And no musty smell.

My hubby is allergic to mold and I have severe asthma. We have stayed at WL over 10 times and NEVER seen or smelled anything out of the ordinary. We have had excellent Mousekeeping as well. I would not worry. If by chance you happen to get a room with a problem they will fix it immediately and make it right. The staff at this resort has been wonderful to us on every visit.

Haven't had a problem with it WL. Polynesian and Contemporary, yes. But, it really doesn't bother me too much, especially if it's not visible. My wife is quite affected by it, though.

We've had a few rooms (CBR once, Port Orleans once) where the carpet had lived past its rehab life. But, given how often we travel to WDW, a couple of rooms out of several hundred are nothing to worry about.

Things should be fine.

Were we at the WL in Jan. The room was very clean. No mold anywhere. No worries. I read a post about mold and the op said that they cleaned it right away.

Just back Friday night and happy to report that the room was spotless and in good repair, the carpet was clean, and no mold or musty smell whatsoever. Great housekeeping service, too; we even had towel animals posed on the beds a couple of times!

We stayed there this week and didn't notice any mold - though it's a common thing, and easily cleaned, it should be kept on top of by housekeeping, you know? Nothing seemed worn to us, even the bedspread looked brand new. I wouldn't worry too much! Enjoy your stay, we sure did!
