Sell me on this resort for 2 adults in January? What makes it better than POR?

WL has boats to the Magic Kingdom, and has a geyser. POR has boats to Downtown Disney, and is also beautifully themed and landscaped. I wouldn't say either of these resorts is better than the other overall. It depends what you're looking for.

Some other differences: WL rooms have private balconies, which can be nice for coffee in the a.m., plus WL has a great lobby. These have come in handy when sleep schedules differed (I'm up early and DBF is more of a night owl). WL has 2 boat routes - to MK and also between WL, CR, and FW - at CR, you can catch the monorail to other monorail resorts, which helps with dining options, if that interests you. Both are great resorts, but if the budget allows, I'd go with WL.

I've stayed at both, and I actually liked the theming of the POR bayou rooms better than the theming of the WL rooms, but that's just an individual preference. Your mileage may vary. :) The WL rooms (at least when I stayed there) had beds very high off the floor, and old-fashioned faucet handles in the bathroom. It's good that the theming is so detailed and true to the era after which it's patterned. I just happen to prefer a different style of décor.

Just stayed there December 2013 and going back in February. The boat access to MK is a nice feature and I love the fact that everything is in one building. The balcony adds a nice relaxing area to sit and the resort has lots of rocking chairs. There is even a lovely nook a few floors up with a fireplace and big comfy chairs. Overall the resort is just more convenient and it's become a fave of mine.

:goodvibes Sit and have morning coffee in front of the fireplace, Watch the electrical parade at night, boat ride to MK is a must many times of the day. Enjoy a late dinner at Artist Point and a walk along the beach. Going back in Feb with hubby and as much as we love the parks the WL is very romantic.

Nicer rooms, balconies, nicer grounds (that is my opinion). It is a deluxe and POR is a moderate. It is like comparing apples and oranges. While POR is a nice moderate they are not in the same league. Building is connected as opposed to various building sprawled out over grounds. WL has a beautiful lobby and fireplace, more eateries.
