WL Flag Family Of The Day pics added! - Birthday Magic and Disney Diva Hair.

Wow! I LOVE your photos from the flag ceremony! :goodvibes

I knew about the ceremony, and have seen a few pictures from it, but I've never heard the whole story about what all it entails. Thank you for sharing it with us all!

It was amazing. That's all I can keep saying. I'm so happy to share it with y'all!!!

So we made it the airport with no drama. We were all checked in and waiting in what we thought was our waiting area. Well, come to find out, our waiting area was the one right next door and we had missed our boarding call:scared1: Has anyone else had this problem at MCO? This is the second time this has happened to us. We literally were the last ones to board, even though I had done early check in on my iphone the day before:headache: Well, it was a full flight and there were NO seats together. Can I tell you how kind people can be. Everyone shuffled around so that Jason and Brendan could sit together and me and Aubrey could sit together. Granted, Jason was at the back of the plane and we were at the front but it was still ok. Aubrey was not happy about this at all. She wanted to sit with Jason on the way home and I told her she could. But then this craziness happened and we just ended up this way. We couldn't help it. She was SCREAMING! Somehow in the middle of all of this craziness, a man whom I thought was a stuard came up to Aubrey and was trying to make her happy. Little did I know it was the captain and he then asked her if she wanted to come help him start the plane:scared1: How cool is that! We made our way up to the cockpit and he let her sit in one of the pilot seats. He then asks her to press a button to check the wheels. It was supposed to do something but it wasn't working. The pilot then looked over my shoulder at the co-pilot who then informed him that the switch was supposed to go the other way:eek: Ok, I was not feeling the safest at this point. I then got my handy camera out and went to take a picture. I hesitated though because I don't know what the security rules are these days. I asked the pilot if it was ok to take pics in the cockpit and he laughed. He said yes but then he would have to kill me. Ahhh, pilot humor. So anyway, I asked the pilot if he would smile for a pic and the poor guy was so uncomfortable. I didn't think twice about it since we had just left the land where everyone will take a picture with you no questions asked. But I still got a cute pic and I just love it...

Seeing all those buttons and dials give me heart palpatations! I am not a fan of flying!

When we got back to our seats, she started to get upset again about not being with Jason. The man that we ended up sitting with offered her his window seat so we shuffled around AGAIN. I couldn't thank him enough. Aparantly, while all of this was happening, the captain came over the speaker and thanked Aubrey for helping him start the plane. She and I both missed this. Jason told me about it after the flight. How funny. We landed safely and got our luggage then headed out to our car that was parked in long term parking. When we got there, Jason tried to unlock it with the clicker and nothing happened. Ummm, ok. The battery was totally dead:scared1: Seriously, this is happening now?! just then Aubrey announced that she had to go "poo poo". Awesome. We're in the middle of the BFE parking lot and she has to go. Long story short, Jason took her to security to potty and they helped us jump the car. When we finally got on the road, Jason started asking me, get this, where we were going to eat on our next trip!!! Hahahah! I love this man. So then the planning for our Dec trip began:cloud9:

Ok folks, well I think that's it!

Thank you all SO very much for reading along and sharing these wonderful memories with me. This was a truly magical trip for us. We made memories that will last a lifetime. I so love that there is a place where Disney lovers from all over can come together and share these things. I have made some wonderful friends along the way and I can only hope to meet some of you in person one day. I hope that you all follow me over to my PTR. I don't know how exciting it will be but at least we can stay in touch. Then after our Dec trip, you know there will be a TR!!!

So thanks again to all of you. Hope to "see" you real soon!

I am sad your trip report is over but I am heading to your pre trip report. The picture of Aubrey crying about the balloon looks just like Grace. How sweet of Jason to give it away. I bet she cries for it if she sees the picture of it. I know Grace would.

I just finished reading about your trip. What a beautiful family and great trip!
Just a tip I picked about the balloon, I think from someone here: You can take a drinking straw you can put it through the seal and deflate the balloon. When you get home you can reinflate. We tried it with a couple of balloons at the office and it worked well. On the other hand it was wonderful to give it to other family!

Aw!!! I don't want it to be over, but I'm so glad you're starting a new TR so soon :thumbsup2 I've enjoyed reading your TRs so much because DH and I got married in WDW and have been married for 3 years (tomorrow! :goodvibes) and we haven't had the easiest time starting a family. Your family is so adorable and sweet and reading your TRs gives me hope to keep trying because my dream is to one day get to share our annual trips with our kids :goodvibes Plus, you and Jason seem so much like us :thumbsup2

I just read through this ENTIRE thing! Well, all the trip report bits. I skipped the commentary. I love reading the commentary when I'm reading a trip report "in real time", but when I'm doing catch-up, I don't have that much time! I MUST know what happens next!

I really do enjoy reading your trip reports. I've read a few TRs that are basically a play-by-play of the trip. Yours is more of a series of stories that made the trip memorable, and I love that! :lovestruc You also have fabulous pictures to help you tell your stories!

You need to take another trip so I can read another TR. ;)

Oh, this last edition was the icing on the cake. If I had a nickle for every time I cried when leaving Disney....heck when I LIVED 15 minutes away, I cried when leaving.....:rotfl:

The balloon story is too cute! Didn't she notice that there was no balloon when you got home and unpacked? :cutie:

I'm subbed for your December trip....:surfweb:

OMG...that is the coolest thing EVER!!!! Do you think you got picked because you are a TA? Because if it is I'm adding that to the list of reasons I wish I was a TA!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank GOD you guys have a good camera!!!!

You know, you are right! I am so not going to show her this picture! She will remember the whole thing I'm sure! See you on my PTR:)

Ok, that IS a great tip! I'm sure that there will be more balloons purchased in my future. Brendan didn't get one this trip but i'm sure he'll want one next time. I hope this works! Thanks!!

Thanks for reading along. I hope you follow me over to my PTR and then that TR!!!

Ok, so this made me cry. I am so blessed to have such a beautiful family. I do not take that for granted at all. I know that things will work out for you too. Jason's sister had trouble getting pregnant for at least 3 years. Then it happened! They ended up having to do IUI but it worked! Then, when he was 7 months old, she found out she was pregnant again:scared1: All things are possible. :goodvibesI hope you have a wonderful anniversary. :goodvibes

You are so sweet:lovestruc It really means a lot to me that you enjoy all of my stories. I feel like I ramble sometimes:rolleyes1 And the pictures... I have hundreds of them!!! And I love sharing them! So glad the Dis has brought us together:)

No matter how ready you are to go home, it's always sad. But like I said, knowing that you'll be back soon always helps:thumbsup2 Aubrey has NOT mentioned the balloon since that day. Maybe she finally realized that it couldn't come home. I'm not asking:rolleyes1
Yay for subbing on my PTR! See you over there:)

How funny. My youngest goes to preschool there. My oldest went there for the past 2 years, but now on to public school for her, as we live in Denham Springs. Small world.

That is a small world! I've met quite a few people on the DIS from around here!

OMG...that is the coolest thing EVER!!!! Do you think you got picked because you are a TA? Because if it is I'm adding that to the list of reasons I wish I was a TA!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank GOD you guys have a good camera!!!!

It had nothing to do with being a TA. All I did was ask at the front desk when we checked in. We just lucked out and got a spot:banana: Anyone can do it! You just have to know to ask;)

And you should still be a TA. It's lots of fun:)

WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's over???????????????? I was so overwhelmed with the coolness of raising the flag that I missed the next updates!!! UGGGHHHH!!! I didn't even get to ask you what product you use on your hair that you don't look like a poodle in Florida humidity???? Ok I'll stop my whining and I'm heading over to you PTR

And for the record...I'm seriously considering doing the TA thing. I don't know if anyone would actually let me considering that I have a full time job but I have access to my blackberry at that full time job so I'm thinking maybe????? We should chat! You would probably know!

Wow! So many updates.

Looks like you had a fun trip to the beach! We have been debating back and forth all summer. The water and sand looked great, no oil. Really wish we would have gone now. Where you stayed, was that part of Sandestin? The kids look like little beach babies with their tans and blond hair. Sad for how Aubrey's caricature came out. Maybe you need to get one in disney in December, but it sure makes for a funny memory!

Love the flag family update, so cool. Have to remember to ask if we ever stay at wilderness lodge (which I plan to someday).

So sweet of the pilot to try and cheer up Aubrey. Too bad she still wanted dad. Both my kids are all about Dh when he is home. I joke that I have to leave for awhile for them to want me again:rotfl:

Lately I am really debating joining dvc, so I have a few questions if you don't mind answering them. Did you buy from disney or do a resale? How many points did you get? I am thinking between 150-170 and trying to work out the math on what I could use them for. We stayed for 3 nights at AKL in a 1 bdr. with savanna view and with the 40% it still was over 1200:eek: Would appreciate any tips as well.

LOL! Yes, all good things must come to an end:( But there's more fun to come over on my PTR.

Sorry to report that I really don't use anything special on my hair. Just cheap shampoo. I do use a flat iron. But remember i live in South Louisiana so I guess my hair is just used to the humidity. Plus it's straight as a board so it doesn't friz much.

I'd be happy to chat with you about the TA thing. It is time consuming. But it is really something you can do on the side. You keep as busy as you want. I hope to do it full time when my kids start school in a few years.

Destin was great. We did have some tar balls but it wasn't bad. My sister was in Ft. Walton at the same time and their water was perfectly clear. It's all just so random. And sad:( We stayed at The Baytowne Wharf which is part of San Destin. I heart it there:love:

The flag thing was awesome. If you ever do stay there, you HAVE to ask to do it!

DVC is awesome. We joined Nov of 2007 and haven't looked back! We did buy through Disney and still only have the base amount of points - 160. The 1BR's are a lot of points so we usually do studios but it works well for us. We fit fine there for now. I do plan on adding points eventually. You definitely get your moneys worth out of it. We've gone on 5 trips since we've joined and stayed at BCV, AKV, and WLV. I've never done the math but it's probably already paid for itself. Let me know if you have any other questions. And I can give you the name of the guy who sold us ours. He was great!

Just found your report...I have a lot of catching up to do!!!:)

:laughing:Well I'm glad you found me! I had a blast writing this report. I hope you enjoy it!

Loved the flag update! That is the best memory ever. It's so funny your DH was already thinking about what he wanted to do on the next trip. As long as they do that you know you're going to be heading back soon.

Aw....sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry. I just wanted to explain how much I enjoyed your TR and how encouraging it was to see your family. Thank you so much for the support and kind words. I just have to have faith and whatever will be, will be

Oh I do NOT think we can be DIS/FB friends anymore...YOUR HAIR NATURALLY stays like that????? I am totally jealous :rotfl2:

I loved your TR!:) The photos from the flag ceremony are priceless. What a special family memory.

I am SOOO SAD your TR is over! It is what I looked forward to every morning when I came in to work. For some reason, I could really relate to you. The picture of Aubrey leaving was priceless. I think we all feel like that. And Jason spreading the magic with the balloon....awesome! The flag ceremony looked fabulous as well. Do you know if every resort does that? On a positive note...I have subscribed to your PTR report so, hopefully, I can get my fill over there. :lmao: Hoping to meet up with you in December. We will have to remember to keep our boys apart. ;)

I loved your trip report and plan on jumping over to your new ptr now. What an awesome last day of vacation you had – flag family and a pilot in training.
